After more than four months of rowing across the Atlantic, Raphael Garcia has completed his epic journey from Namibia to Salvador, Brazil.

His ocean rowing boat, Sater, was built right here in New Zealand by MG Composites NZ. We’ve loved watching Raphael test the boat in the marina waters and beyond, following his progress along the way, and finally celebrating his incredible finish.

We're finalists! Seaview Marina has been named a finalist in the NZ Marina Operators Association (NZMOA) Awards - Outstanding Initiative category.

Our entry is the Seaview Marina Staff App, which began as a simple way to improve health and safety processes and has evolved into a digital hub for the marina's day-to-day operations. Developed in-house using the marina's existing Jotform subscription, it gives the seven person team mobile access to checklists, permits, incident and hazard reporting, emergency information, site plans, tide forecasts, training resources and other essential information. Staff can complete and access documentation while working around the marina, with records stored centrally. We plan to continue developing the platform and ultimately extend access to customers and contractors.

Congratulations to the two other finalists, and thank you to NZMOA for the recognition. The winner will be announced at the NZMOA Awards Dinner on 24 September! 🤞

Using our Roodberg trailer, the team safely hauled Ika Rere from the water, ready for her scheduled maintenance and upgrades. Haul-outs like this are a great example of the specialist equipment and experienced crew that help keep vessels operating safely and efficiently.

We look forward to seeing Ika Rere back on the harbour soon, refreshed and ready to welcome passengers aboard.
