After 5 years of hard work and dedication with Seaview Marina, Pete Fromow retired yesterday - and what a loss he’ll be. A true gentleman, always bringing kindness, humour, and a steady presence to the marina.

Please join us in wishing Pete all the very best as he heads off to explore the Pacific Islands. Pete, you’ll be greatly missed around here!

Meet Alan the Albatross 🐦‍⬛

After riding out the recent storm, this young guy was found early this morning near the office completely exhausted and worse for wear.

Office manager Paula popped her gumboots on in the rain and wind to scoop him up and get him to safety. No fingers were lost in the attempt though he did try!

Alan has now been taken to the vet where he’s resting, recovering, and (hopefully) regaining a bit of his dignity after his ordeal.

Tropical Cyclone Vaianu - Sunday 12th April - now is the time to check your mooring lines, add extra lines to reduce strain, secure or remove loose items on deck, ensure bilge pumps are operating correctly and make sure furling headsails are tightly secured. For trailer park boats, ensure the boat is fastened to the eyelet and ratcheted onto the trailer.

At this stage, the peak of the storm is midnight on Sunday. Follow MetService for updates and information.

Seaview Marina Fuel Restrictions

Seaview Marina has been advised by our diesel supplier that their main terminal is currently out of diesel, and they are unable to confirm their next delivery. Due to this we are unable to determine when we will get a delivery for our diesel tank.

As a result, from 5:00pm today, we will be limiting our supply of diesel. The pump will only be available between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

All fuel requests must be directed through the marina office on 04 568 3736, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. We will then send a team member down to assist with the fuelling.

We will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Storm Update - Seaview Marina, Monday 16th February 8.00am

The storm remains at dangerous levels, with high winds and heavy rain continuing.

We have a limited team available onsite today. Given the conditions, staff will only undertake marina work that is safe to do so. All vessel lifts have been cancelled until further notice.

If you have any concerns, please call the marina office and we will arrange for the team to attend when it is safe.

If conditions allow, please check your vessel. Do not put yourself at risk, and ensure you wear a life jacket if going onto pontoons or near the water.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while we prioritise safety.

Please note that Compass Coffee is closed today due to the weather.
