Our History
CAM COUNTY INC was formed in 1978 by members of the Roadrunners Inc., which is based in Seatoun, Wellington. The original founding members included Ray & Alison Cox; John Coulter (RIP); Ned Coulter; Chris Lee; Harry (RIP) & Teresa Bradknock; Frank & Elaine Boyd; Geoff Lowe; & Phil Foothead. They all lived in the Hutt Valley and found the traveling was having a negative effect on the enjoyment of their hobby.

60th PORT ROAD DRAGS UPDATE
Here’s a few important updates for Racers & Supporters
Due to the overwhelming response in filling our 88 Entries within 48 hours, Our Cam County, Port Road Drags Committee as agreed to include another 16 car field, So this year we are now going to run 104 Cars, which is going to make the 60th Running a very busy day, hence why we are going to make a few critical changes to the timing on the day, Sunday morning scrutineering will close @ 8:00am,So Please be early on Sunday Morning, I’d suggest if you can, please get your vehicle scrutineered on Saturday afternoon between 12:00 Noon – 3:00pm @ our Cam County Clubrooms 4 Rishworth Street, Lower Hutt, Drivers Briefing & Role Call will be @ 8:15am, Drivers in there cars ready to start @ 8:45am, with Racing to start @ 9:00am Sharp, Drivers your Help on the Day will be greatly appreciated to Help our Day run smoothly.
PRIZEGIVING, there will be No Prizegiving @ our Cam County Clubrooms this year, the 60th Port Road Drags Buffet Dinner & Prizegiving will be Held @ Petone Working Men’s Club from 6:30pm @ Udy Street onwards, if you are intending to attend you will need to purchase a Prizegiving Function Ticket @ $65:00 each, which can be done by emailing [email protected], our Admin Team will send you the details

Not a bad day for Port Road Pilsner. Crowned Supreme Winner at the 2026 New World B**r & C***r Awards, beating out more than 650 b**rs for the top spot, you little beauty.

We’ve always had a soft spot for this one, so safe to say we’re pretty stoked. Big shout out to our production team. They smashed it out of the park.
