This one well and truly gave up! 😅

This Volvo arrived with no drive at all, and judging by the condition of the clutch, it had done every last mile it possibly could! 😂

We fitted a brand new dual mass flywheel and clutch kit, and now it’s back on the road driving like new.

Moral of the story: if your clutch starts slipping, juddering or making strange noises, don’t put it off. Catching the problem early can often prevent a breakdown and save you a lot of hassle.

1st part
This Ford kuga came into us with a coolant leak issue, after initial diagnoses & pressure test the electronic thermostat housing was confirmed as faulty causing the loss of coolant.
After fitting a genuine Ford thermostat housing and spending more time than I’d like to say trying to bleed the cooling system and getting no results, I’ve had to put my hands up and call the customer to explain the situation and explain I’m pretty sure that the water pump has failed, then it’s come to light that the customer was already having a problem with loss of internal heating, so that leads onto the second part of this process
2nd part
Carried out full strip down of timing belt to inspect water pump, which confirmed my initial thought complete water pump failure which meant the water pump wasn’t being turned by the timing belt anymore, so replaced full timing belt kit & water pump using Gates parts and carried on to successfully bleed the cooling system and get the customer back onto the road.

First time using vapour to finish of a headlight clean and what a finish it is..

On this headlight we had to start the wet sanding process with 600 grit and work our way up to 3000 grit before we could crack on with the vapour stage

Definitely one of the most satisfying processes

Nice little start to our week with this LWB 2.0 ecoblue RWD Ford Transit in for the full wetbelt kit & full service

Having only done 90k miles but being just over 6 years old this one was due for replacement

Our apprentice Ethan getting involved in the action on this one

This job was carried out using all genuine Ford parts for the customers peace of mind

It’s been a while since we’ve posted, so here’s a little update from us at LG Motor Repairs!

We’ve been busy keeping local vehicles on the road with servicing, MOT repairs, diagnostics, brakes, clutches, timing belts/chains and general maintenance.
