And the 24/25 league season is complete as Clare Town Res wrap up their 8th win on the bounce with a 1-0 win away to Haverhill Town Res!

Clare went into the game knowing a win would potentially keep the pressure on Litlington Athletic for the race for 2nd place and promotion!

Clare started the brighter and deservedly went ahead when striker, Tay, controlled the ball on the edge of the box and brought it onto his stronger foot and stroked the ball past the keeper! Clare had many chances, espically in the 2nd half, to add to their tally but a combination of great goalkeeping from the opposition keeper and the woodwork kept the score at 1 nil!

MOTM went to Clare Town's very own John Terry, without the team mates relationships (As far we as know, ha!) - Branchy - He was solid all game at centre half and nothing was getting past him!

After the game we saw that Litlington had won their game and went back into 2nd place so congrats to them. We now have to wait and see what the league does for next year but the reserves have a lot of build on in their first season!

Another 6-Point Saturday as Both Teams Edge Closer to Promotion!

It was a great day of football for Clare Town, with the first team securing a vital win at home against Linton Gratna, while the reserves continued their impressive run on the road.

The first team welcomed Linton Gratna Reserves to Harp Lane, and the match kicked off with Clare showing their attacking intent right from the start. Fullback Aidan Dunne and Clare Town hero Ed Spittle both came close to scoring but were denied by the woodwork. Despite a series of baffling decisions from the referee, the first half ended goalless, with Clare aware that a win would almost guarantee a top-two finish and keep their league title ambitions alive.

In a strategic move, Clare made a few changes early in the second half, which proved pivotal. Thomas Templeman-Taylor broke the deadlock with his 14th league goal of the season, igniting celebrations among the home crowd. Pinkus then capped off a strong performance off the bench, adding a second goal just 10 minutes before the end, sealing a crucial 2-0 victory. Midfielder Charlie Nunn was named Man of the Match for his tireless work in midfield, helping to control the game and drive the team forward.

Meanwhile, the reserves journeyed to Wickhambrook to take on Haverhill Town Senior B, aiming for their sixth consecutive victory since Christmas. The match turned out to be a success, with Clare triumphing 3-0, thanks to a brace from Jake Lander and another goal from little Harry Rogers. Reserves captain Todd Powell , sharing his thoughts at the pub afterward, emphasized the importance of staying grounded despite their current form, emphasizing their focus on taking it game by game as they set their sights on promotion.

The Man of the Match award went to gaffer Kingsleigh McDougall for his commanding performance in the back line, providing stability and leadership throughout the match.

Next weekend, only the first team will be in action as they prepare to host Cambourne Town in another crucial top-of-the-table clash. The team's resolve will be put to the test as they seek a better result than their previous encounter.

It's Saturday, it's matchday and it's the final one of the year!

The first team take the short trip to take on Linton Gratna reserves whereas the reserves are back in action for the first time in 3 weeks as they welcome league leaders Saffron Walden Town FC A Team to Harp Lane.

It's Saturday and it's back to double match day with both teams in action today!

The first are having a break from league action with a William Coad League Cup game against Houghton & Wyton Football Club down at Harp Lane with an earlier kick off time of 1.45pm!

Meanwhile, the reserves head to Lime playing fields to take on unbeaten league leaders Saffron Walden Town FC A Team. Going to be a great game of football, if you can get down to support the reserves their game kicks off at 2pm!
