It's not pretty, and yes it takes time. As on many occasions we receive cylinder heads already run. We find a significant importance to the cleaning process, as we avoid glass beading of aluminum. The right products are important to carbon removal. Glass beads will lodge into the aluminum and can be released into a brand new engine. Yes it takes time to clean, although even greater time to do an engine twice.

Check out this beautiful 1967 442 of Chris Karges. All the internals provided by Olds Performance Products has this 400E block at 425 cubic inches. Pistons, connecting rods rings, wrist pins and more. A custom ground Olds Performance dual pattern hydraulic roller and hydraulic roller lifters was issued, along with matching valve springs and retainers for the modified C heads. Chris opted for the lifter bore bushings to reduce down from .921 to .842 as this opens up a world of opportunity for camshaft selection. Black Widow series rocker arm kit from Olds Performance Products as well which incorporates built in oil restriction and manufactured right here in the USA.
