The car it is modeled of was owned by TJ's Great Granddad and was used on the family farm as a tractor during WWII. The cars number was 7 when our family owned it but was changed to 5 when Southwards car museum restored it. As I am the 7th child in my family and TJ is my 7th child it seemed fitting to build this type of Totrod

Thanks to Tim @ Abrasive Waterjet Services for the use of his workshop

and waterjet not to mention sponsoring the majority of the materials for this build :)

A big thank you to Craig at Southwards Car Museum for sending through high res pics of the car

Starting the big mission to strip it right down and repaint along with upgrading a few bits that are in need of strengthening.
Hopefully this paint won't yellow on the bodywork like the last lot.
Funny thing is the original was painted with white enamel as well, which has also yellowed over time so the totrod yellowed was pretty spot on, if only the frame and every other piece of steel had done the same thing lol.
Hope I can remember how to put it all back together :)

So got some very exciting news today!
The trustees at Southwards Car Museum love Tara's totrod and would love to have it on display next to the full size one 😀!!!
Time to get it cleaned up and new paint job, then figure out getting it down there.
So very cool to have it on display next to the inspiration in an actual museum!
