RS Motorcycles At RS Motorcycles we are passionate about two wheels. Fully trained by BMW, Ducati and Honda, but also have extensive experience in all brands. Robert.

Mechanic Robert Hadley and his team service and repair All motorcycles, with Europeans being their specialty. RS Motorcycles is my business I run from 23 Parliament Street in Lower Hutt, I repair and service all types of motorcycles, with Europeans being our specialty. I spent 10 years working in Wellington as a senior motorcycle technician prior to opening RS Motorcycles in March 2016. I also

have extensive knowledge and experience with all things suspension for road, race and dirt bikes. From basic set up right through to custom valving and upgraded shocks. We are the Wellington service agents for YSS and also have full factory access for servicing Nitron, Ohlins and Racetech suspension. I prepare and maintain several track day bikes and club level race bikes including my own. I can help from basic set up for doing track days to complete race bike builds to race at national level. I perform all servicing and repairs you need for your road or off road bike all at a reasonable cost. As I am a small, independent workshop you avoid all the costs associated with using a large main dealer, and I can give you a far more personal service. You deal directly with me and we can work together to get your bike exactly how you want it. I am particularly well know locally for looking after The local BMW owners and Ducatista and all their servicing and repairs. I have invested heavily in all the required special tooling and have a full diagnostic suite covering not just Ducati and BMW, but most modern motorcycles. I can also help with sourcing particular bikes both locally and imported give me a call to chat about finding that special machine! Or if you are looking to buy and want someone to check it over I’m happy to help. I am of course fully qualified, GST registered and fully insured to look after you and your bike. I offer a collection and delivery service, within the Wellington region, if your bike is broken down or not road legal. Give me a call, an email or PM me and we can discuss you requirements. Thanks for visiting my page please share with your friends and fellow riders.

Another weekend of racing for the team RS crew at the final round of the VMCCclub series, having missed round one there was no chance of silverware but we had some new parts to try, and hoping to push down my lap times a bit. There’s a gap of 2 seconds or so to the top three riders, and we are roughly speaking “best of the rest” on pure lap times.
Another great qualifying session put me right where I needed to be on the front row in P4.
Race one started well, putting my poor starts of round two behind me I slotted in behind the top 3 through turn one. Getting awesome drive through two I figured being among those three was the best way to learn … well I learnt something, Hugh slide and trip across the grass . Luckily I stayed upright but rejoined towards the back of the pack. Took a lap to gather myself and started to push back through the field. Ended up 7th with 4th fastest lap of the race.
Race two was another frustrating time with a couple of missed gear changes in the opening lap dropping me down the field. Same result,8th this time with 4th fastest lap time.
Race three and something to prove, perfect start aided by two riders starting from pi lane saw me slot into second, right head down and concentrate.. ran there for the first 3 laps and then those pesky fast riders picked me off.. P4 finish and a big gap back to 5th.
Unfortunately on the last laps we noticed a lack of power and on inspection we discovered I had blown the head gasket🤦‍♂️
We missed the final race, a bit of a frustrating day but taking the positives we have the pace, and the bike has potential…..
Being the final round we had prize giving and somehow I got press ganged into MCing the event… but that’s another story.

Sunday is always bike day, and this weekend was no exception. Robert was off on the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride.
Previously we have run our van as a support vehicle but this year year Robert helped as a parking marshal and a mid pack rider.
The turnout was unbelievable and everyone had a great ride, raised a lot of $$ and some very cool bikes made the ride.
DGR support the Movemember foundation money raised goes to men’s mental health and prostate cancer , this year Wellington smashed it with over $24000 and 240 odd bikes. Well done team!

We have just heard that tyres are going up in price again.. I know right, getting a bit crazy out there... But don't worry we've got your back, well for a while at least:-)
Sets of Metzeler Sportec M7RR's in 120/70x17 Front with a 180/55 or 190/55x17 rear are just $650 FITTED to your pride an joy, Robert runs these on his Streetfighter and gives them the double thumbs up.
Or if want a great touring and commuting option we also have the now infamous Roadtec Z8 sets in 120/70x17 front paired with 160/60, 180/55 or 190/50X17 rear for an almost unbelieveable $550 for the set FITTED...
Nothing else to pay, we will even include the Tyre Wise fee.
But get in quick, it's only what's in stock... don't get caught out this winter, save $$$ and get some quality tyres now!

Been a while since we dropped a race report… and this one is from Robert, our chief mechanic, owner and team principal.
So I came out of retirement this weekend at the Victoria Motorcycle Club Race meeting.
10 years ago I ran my last race on a CBR250… this time I ran a KTM RC390 in the Supersport 300 class. With a practice day Saturday I got pretty comfortable on the bike, and as we had heavy rain in the afternoon I got to rediscover using wet tyres.. my pace was a way off but I went in to race day feeling good and confident I wasn’t going make too much of a fool of myself.
Sunday morning and the rain stopped but the track was still very wet.. so the wet practice was good. I went out late to try and find my own pace and not ruin anyone else’s laps. I came in to applause and pats on the back from my team mates. Unbelievably I put our little KTM on the front row in P4, turns out I can still ride in the wet😁
Race one was a real baptism of fire as one of my competitors had an unfortunate incident on the grid which saw me clip her upturned bike and take a wee tumble. No harm done and I made the restart , just, thanks to the team.
Race starts didn’t go to plan in the morning and I lost heaps of places so I had to battle back through the field. Got my groove on though and the last two races I managed to keep my P4 starting position into turn one.
So many awesome battles all day, every race was in a group of four or five riders scrapping for the last spot on the podium. My weekend went 3x P4 and 2xP3 in class with P4 overall for the weekend.
So far above my expectations I cannot believe it!
Massive thanks to my team who not only supported me all weekend, but managed their own race day without me. Turns out I’m not indispensable after all 🤷‍♂️
Of course none of this would be possible without the support of my wife Simone, the S of RS , who helped me all weekend . Food, drinks, calming words and pep talks when needed😎
Maybe we will do it again….

We are all set for this great event tomorrow morning, weather is looking mint and looks like we are going to have a big turnout!
Get rid of some of that pesky loose change and give us a donation for the BBQ and buy a raffle ticket.
Everyone has donated their time and product for free so 💯 of your money goes to the Wellington branch of the cancer society.
