For Chloe Blades, the Next Generation Zone at the NZ Art Show was the first time having her artwork on display for such a large audience, & what a debut it was, with both of Chloe’s stunning pieces, Tulip Sunset & Peacock, being purchased by visitors to the show.

“Really happy & grateful,” is how Chloe described her reaction to hearing the news, a special moment for a young artist sharing her work with such a wide audience for the very first time.

Currently a year 13 student at St Catherine's College, Chloe works mostly with paper collages & painting, & finds real joy in the creative process, drawing inspiration from a photo or picture, planning each piece, building up shading, & carefully creating every individual section before the final artwork comes together.

Stories like Chloe’s are exactly why we are so proud to sponsor the Next Generation Zone. The zone is all about giving emerging artists from across the Wellington region & beyond the opportunity to be seen, celebrated, & supported.

Seeing young creatives like Chloe take that step, put their work out into the world, & receive such an incredible response is what makes this initiative so meaningful & rewarding.

With university studies on the horizon in 2027, Chloe hopes to continue creating more amazing art alongside her studies & we look forward to following her journey.
