"My intention was to stay on in school and complete 6th year but after my work experience placement with DMK I enjoyed it that much the school DYW coordinator asked them if they would consider offering me an apprenticeship which they did so I left school at the end of S4 to start my apprenticeship".

"I enjoy everything about my apprenticeship. I get a great sense of job satisfaction when I solve a problem. Going through an apprenticeship is great because you earn money while you are learning and gaining your qualification. A typical day in the garage can involve servicing vehicles, oil changes, replacing filters, fitting disks & pads, assisting MOTs, diagnostics, tidying the garage, observing and learning from qualified mechanics".

"I would definitely recommend a career in mechanics to others if they have a interest in cars and are willing to work hard".
