We’ve appointed Paul Merchant as Head of Waste and Industrial, bringing experience from both sides of specialist vehicle hire.

Paul has worked in large-scale industrial plant hire, helping customers source everything from everyday fleet requirements to highly specialist equipment.

He has also been responsible for running a large waste fleet himself.

That combination is exactly what Managing Director Lennon Compton wanted as Tanker Rent UK continues to grow its waste and industrial business.

As Lennon says in our latest update, Paul understands the work our customers carry out, why vehicle specification matters, and what operators need from a hired unit once it arrives.

Paul will work directly with customers while helping shape the vehicles and equipment we bring into the fleet.

This has to be one of our fastest turnarounds.

Yesterday morning, IRM GROUP, whose work includes drainage, tankering and sewer rehabilitation, urgently needed a 30,000 litre vacuum tanker trailer.

By 7pm the same day, Tanker Rent UK had delivered it. This morning, it was in service, helping IRM avoid downtime and keep their own customer covered.

Stuart Jones at IRM Group said:
