BMW Z4 3.0i — Roof Pump Motor Replaced & Relocated 🔧

This Z4 came in with a roof that had stopped operating correctly. The culprit? Water ingress had got to the original pump motor and caused significant corrosion, as you can see from the old unit in the photos.

We replaced the pump motor with a new unit and relocated it to a better-protected position, preventing the same problem from occurring again.

Soft-top BMWs are a fantastic drive, but the hydraulic roof systems do need attention when things go wrong — and catching it early makes all the difference.

If your convertible roof is playing up, give us a call. We use the same dealer diagnostic tooling as BMW main dealers, at a fraction of the price.

Two jobs on the ramp today that show why timing really is everything.

The red Ford Fiesta came in for a wet belt replacement. These engines run the timing belt through the oil, so when it goes, it goes badly. Not a job to put off!

Meanwhile, the VW Up was due its timing belt and water pump, so we sorted both at the same time to save the customer an extra visit.

Both jobs done right, both cars back on the road. 🔧

If your car is due a timing belt or you're unsure when it was last changed, give us a call. Always better to know before it becomes a much bigger problem.
