A great way to a smoother ride.
We replaced the factory bump stops on this Peugeot Boxer with a set of bellows to give air assist.

These systems can be used to not only improve the ride when driving, but can give small height adjustments to save using leveling ramps when staying on slightly uneven pitches.

This particular system is pressurised using a stand alone tyre inflator. So we have neatly hidden the schrader valves inside the gas locker.

A great way to go camping, is with a solar charging system for your

We installed this customer's system last month, giving them all day 12v charging without the need of a generator or on site electric hook up.

The system fitted to this is a flush panel fitted with adhesive, which helps keep the weight down, and doesn't hinder any aerodynamics, or cause any whistling or nosies on the motorway.

We brought the main wiring in neatly behind the built in cabinets, and wired the modules up inside cupboards to keep everything out of sight.

Dealer level software updates and coding available.

We carried out a 'Vehicle Connectivity Module' back up battery replacement and reset on a Volvo XC90 this week.

After replacing the internal battery, the timer on the VCM needs to be reset. This can only be done with Volvo software.
Rather than carrying software and machines for every vehicle manufacturer (which is neither practical or cost effective), we use our Topdon UK R-Link to allow one of their specialists to connect to the vehicle remotely, and carry out the software work, using a suitable dealer level machine.

We can offer most types of dealer level work this way, including jobs which require a secure gateway, or have component protection on them like the later VWAGs.

Timing belts are one of those components that often get forgotten about… until it’s too late.

This Ford B-Max with the 1.25 engine was in for a full timing belt replacement carried out at the customer’s home. On this job we replaced the timing belt, water pump, auxiliary belt and coolant using OE quality parts throughout.

A lot of modern engines rely heavily on correct timing, and cutting corners on these jobs can end up very expensive. Manufacturer-specific timing tools were used to ensure everything was locked and timed correctly from start to finish.

We regularly see vehicles that have gone beyond the recommended interval, and unfortunately it only takes one failed belt to turn a routine maintenance job into a major engine repair.

Keeping on top of timing belt intervals is far cheaper than rebuilding an engine.

Wet belts (also known as “belt-in-oil” systems) run inside the engine and rely on clean oil to stay healthy. Over time, age, heat, and oil contamination can cause the belt to degrade.

If left too long, the belt material starts to break down and the debris can block the oil pickup, starving the engine of oil and leading to serious internal damage.

⚠️ Turbo Failure at 60,000 Miles – Preventable? ⚠️

Last week we carried out a turbocharger replacement on a Renault Trafic fitted with the Renault 1.6 dCi R9M engine.

This van had covered less than 60,000 miles…
Far too early for a turbocharger to fail ❌

🔍 The issue:

Like many we see, it started with a slight whining noise from the turbo.

➡️ This is the early warning sign
➡️ Bearings begin to wear
➡️ Shaft develops play
➡️ Eventually… complete failure

On this vehicle, the turbocharger shaft had snapped, meaning:
❌ Zero boost
❌ Severe loss of power
❌ Vehicle effectively unusable

🛠️ Work carried out:

This isn’t a quick job, access is tight on these vans 👇

• Subframe removal for access
• DPF removal
• Replacement OE-quality turbocharger
• Intercooler system flushed through
• Oil feed & return pipes checked and cleared
• Fresh engine oil & filter (Castrol 5W-30 C4 low SAPs)
• Full road test carried out

All completed on the customer’s driveway, keeping their work van on the road with minimal disruption 👌

⚠️ Why do we see this so often?

It comes back to one thing… servicing intervals.

Manufacturer guidance:
➡️ 24,000 miles / 2 years

Our recommendation:
✅ 10,000 miles or yearly – whichever comes first

Because oil quality is EVERYTHING for turbo longevity.

💡 The reality:

Dirty or degraded oil =
❌ Poor lubrication
❌ Increased bearing wear
❌ Turbo failure

And once that noise starts… it’s already on borrowed time.

Regular servicing isn’t just maintenance, it’s protection.

🚨 1.2 PureTech Wet Belt Failure at under 50,000 Miles

Last week we attended a Vauxhall Crossland fitted with the well-known PSA 1.2 PureTech engine, and this one highlights exactly why these engines need careful maintenance.

This vehicle had covered just 47,000 mile, and the wet timing belt had already started to break down severely.

The result?
➡️ Belt material breaking up
➡️ Debris circulating through the engine
➡️ Oil pump strainer blocked
➡️ Oil pressure issues
➡️ Vehicle dropped into limp mode

🔧 What we found:

• Heavily cracked and degraded timing belt
• Belt debris throughout the engine
• Oil system contamination

🛠️ Work carried out on-site:

• Engine flush prior to strip down
• Sump removal and oil strainer clean
• Vacuum pump removed and inspected
• Oil ways checked and cleaned where accessible
• VVT solenoids cleaned
• New timing belt kit fitted (OE quality from Dayco)
• Auxiliary belts replaced
• Fresh oil + filter (Castrol Magnatec, Stellantis approved)
• OE-quality oil filter from Febi

All completed at the customer’s home, avoiding recovery and keeping downtime to a minimum 👌

⚠️ The reality with these engines:

The official interval may say 60,000 miles... But this car didn’t even make it there.

* These belts degrade in oil
* Oil condition is CRITICAL
* Extended service intervals are simply too long

✅ Our recommendation:

• Engine oil & filter every 8,000 miles or 12 months (whichever comes first)
• Use the correct belt-in-oil approved oil
• Don’t wait for the dash displyed message,be proactive.

Because a simple oil service is far cheaper than an engine rebuild.

If you’ve got a 1.2 PureTech – don’t ignore it.
Prevention is everything with these engines.
