🚗 Coolant loss with no obvious leak? It might not be as simple as topping it up...
This vehicle came into Red Oak Garage with a coolant loss issue that wasn't immediately obvious. After carrying out a full inspection, we traced the fault to a failed EGR cooler.
The internal failure was allowing coolant to leak into the exhaust system, which in turn had begun to block the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Left unresolved, faults like this can lead to reduced performance, repeated warning lights, costly repairs and, in some cases, serious engine damage.
This is why proper diagnosis is so important.
Rather than replacing parts based on assumptions, we identified the root cause first. By finding the original fault, we can recommend the correct repair and prevent the same problem from returning.

Timing belt failure doesn't always mean the end of the engine.
This vehicle arrived with a failed timing belt, which had caused damage to the top end of the engine. While it can be one of the most serious mechanical failures a vehicle can suffer, it doesn't always mean the engine needs replacing.
Following a thorough inspection, our technicians confirmed the damage and carried out the necessary repairs, including replacing the camshaft and rockers, before resetting the engine timing and carrying out extensive testing to ensure everything was operating as it should.
