Did you know that the Porsche 996 Cabriolet came with a hardtop as standard? Later Cabriolets didnā€™t.

To be fair, the folding roof is so good, you donā€™t really need a hardtop. Plus, on a sunny, crisp winterā€™s day, thereā€™s nothing better than dropping the hood and cranking up the heating for a spirited drive!

If you do have a hardtop, itā€™s worth getting a storage bag. Weā€™ve seen a few roofs that have been scratched while stored in garages. A stand is good, too, as if you leave the hardtop leaning against a wall, the rubber seals will become misshaped.

Weā€™ve been asked to sell this Porsche 911 Targa on behalf of a customer. Itā€™s very much a project for someone. Itā€™s a back-dated Carrera 3.2 finished in metallic green with a smartly retrimmed interior and a rebuilt engine.
