Well… what a trip that was! 👊🏍️

After months of planning, we’ve just returned from our incredible 11-day motorcycle tour covering an amazing 2,700 miles through Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Italy

The trip started with a short ride over to Hull to catch the overnight ferry to Rotterdam before a very long (and very wet! 🌧️😂) ride down to just south of Munich. It wasn’t the most glamorous day in the saddle, but it put us exactly where we needed to be to begin the good stuff...

And from there, it just got better and better. 😍

We spent six full days doing what felt like nothing but riding mountain passes all day long through the Alps and the breathtaking Dolomite mountain range ⛰️🏍️ We genuinely haven’t counted how many passes we completed, but it certainly felt like we ticked off a new one every hour!

There were so many incredible roads, but if we had to pick a few favourites, the Furka Pass, Susten Pass and the legendary Stelvio Pass have to be right up there. Absolutely unforgettable riding and without doubt some of the best roads we’ve ever experienced. 🤯🔥

Of course, it wasn’t just about the riding. Every day finished with good food 🍝, the odd well earned beer 🍺 (not too many of course! 😄), plenty of laughs and great company. That’s what these tours are all about.

Eventually it was time to point the bikes north again. We enjoyed one final day winding through the beautiful German countryside before the inevitable motorway slog back to Rotterdam to catch the ferry home.

It’s hard to put into words just how good this trip was. Epic roads, stunning scenery, brilliant company and memories that will stay with us for a very long time. If this tour has taught us anything, it’s that there’s nothing quite like exploring Europe from the saddle of a motorcycle. 👊

Another busy spell at The Ride Academy and we’ve got plenty to shout about! 👊
Since our last post we’ve clocked up an incredible 112 tests across Module 1 & 2 🎉 Huge congratulations to everyone who’s put the work in and achieved their licence, top riding and thoroughly deserved! 🏍️👏

It’s been a seriously busy period for the team, and after months of training, testing and keeping things moving, we’re now signing off for a well earned break as we head off on our big 11 day tour of the Dolomites 😍⛰️🏍️
This is one we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. Plenty of planning has gone into it and we can’t wait to get out there and enjoy some of the best riding roads Europe has to offer. After such a busy spell, it feels like the perfect way to recharge before we come back ready to go again 💪🔥

We’ve also got some great news from within the team 🙌 Huge congratulations to Jay, who is now officially a fully qualified instructor after successfully passing his Chadderton assessment 👏🏆 A brilliant achievement and one that’s taken a lot of hard work and dedication. Well done Jay, thoroughly deserved and we’re delighted to have you as part of the instructor team 👊
As always, a huge thank you to everyone who continues to support The Ride Academy, whether you’ve recently trained with us, passed your test, or simply followed along with what we do 🤝

Six unforgettable days on the road with Luke, Dave and Mike, taking in our WW1 & WW2 Memorial Tour across France and Belgium 🗺️🏍️

This one was a bit different… still plenty of incredible riding through the countryside, but a trip built around history, reflection and respect.

We started out in Normandy, taking in the WW2 memorial sites, museums and the famous beach landings. Riding along those stretches of coastline really puts things into perspective… it’s hard to describe, but it’s something that stays with you. A humbling experience and a powerful reminder of what so many went through.

From there we headed towards the Somme, continuing the journey through WW1 history. The memorials, cemeteries and museums tell some incredible stories, and again, it’s impossible not to feel a huge amount of respect for those who fought so bravely.

We finished up in Ypres, where the trip ended with the Last Post. Standing there and taking it all in was the perfect way to round off the tour… a proper moment of reflection and remembrance.

An amazing few days with great company, some brilliant riding, and experiences that will stay with us for a long time. It’s a tour that really strikes a balance… enjoyable, eye-opening, and above all, respectful to the history and the people behind it.

A cold but enjoyable couple of months at The Ride Academy, even if January tried its best to slow us down! 🌧️❄️

The bad weather meant an extended Christmas break for some of us… so Dad, Lee and Mel did the sensible thing and hid from it all in Cape Verde 😎✈️

Of course, they couldn’t stay away from bikes for long 🏍️ While out there they squeezed in a full day of off-road riding across the sandy beaches and dunes. Absolutely gruelling, seriously challenging, but by all accounts an unreal experience 🤯🔥 One to remember for sure!

Back on home turf, we’ve still been cracking on 💪 As a training school we’ve already clocked up 23 test passes so far this year across Module 1 & 2 🎉 Huge well done to everyone who’s put the work in, top riding and well deserved 👏 With the weather finally starting to behave, we’re hoping to build some real momentum over the coming weeks 🌤️👀

We’ve also been busy behind the scenes planning some exciting things for the future… Motorcycle touring is very much on the horizon 🗺️🏍️
In March we’ll be running a recce of a WW1 & WW2 memorial tour through France and Belgium. A 5-day trip packed with history and lovely riding through the countryside. Current plans for this to go on sale later this year for 2027 tour dates 🙌

And that’s not all… In June we’re heading off on a 10 day tour taking in Austria, Switzerland and Italy, including the Dolomites 😍⛰️ We’ve put loads of planning into this one and can’t wait to get out there, it’s shaping up to be something special.

Another busy spell at The Ride Academy and we’ve got plenty to shout about! 👊
Since our last post we’ve clocked up 60 test passes overall across Module 1 & 2 🎉 Huge congratulations to everyone who put the work in and got the result,top riding and well deserved! 🏍️👏

We also had a cracking day out at Motorcycle Live 🤩 Loads of incredible bikes to admire, and yes… maybe a couple of sneaky celebratory beers along the way 🍻😄 A great day all round with the team.

Speaking of celebrations, we finished things off in style with a brilliant Christmas night out 🎄🎉 Always good to get everyone together away from the bikes and enjoy some well-earned downtime.

Behind the scenes we’ve also been busy getting things ready for the future and we’re made up with our brand new flyers ready for 2026 🙌 Thanks again

As we head into the festive period, we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s supported us, whether you’ve trained with us recently or been part of The Ride Academy journey over the years 🤝

We’re now signed off for Christmas and New Year, returning on 5th January 🎅 However, we will still be keeping an eye on emails, so don’t worry if you need to get in touch.

Another brilliant couple of weeks at The Ride Academy! It’s been a busy time with testing , since our last post, we’ve taken 41 people to test across both Module 1 and 2 test. Would you believe that only 5 didn’t pass? Huge congratulations to everyone who smashed it, and for those who didn’t quite get there this time, we know you’ll nail it on your next attempt! 💪

Lee, Luke, and Dave also managed a last-minute trip to the Peak District. It’s been a while since they were last back in Holmfirth, and as that’s where they completed their very first tour together, it’s always a special place to return to (even if the weather didn’t play ball 🌧️).

All the team also got together to celebrate Michael Green’s birthday 🎉 a lovely evening with great company. Wishing you a very happy birthday, Michael, from all your family here at The Ride Academy!

And finally, a huge milestone for us , The Ride Academy turned 7 this month! 🎉 Our very first customer came through the door on 1st November 2018, and looking back on how far we’ve come since then is something truly special. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far, here’s to many more years of riding, learning, and unforgettable memories 🏍️❤️

The clocks changing last night signifies our quieter time of year now. Although, by the looks of the diary there is still PLENTY of work to be done before we think about the Christmas break.🎅

It has been a truly remarkable year for The Ride Academy. The team have worked extremely hard together and we’ve had our best season on record.👏

The socials took a backstep as we were working hard to keep up with the demand, whilst also not compromising our standards. Our priority is making sure we give everyone that comes through our door the best, most enjoyable experience whilst also ensuring you leave us with the knowledge and skills to be safe on the road.

We’d like to thank everyone that’s been through The Ride Academy, not just this year, but since our start up 🤝 You have all contributed to our growth & this support allows us to continue doing what we love.

Now it’s time to congratulate everyone that’s passed since our last post back in June 🎉

Believe it or not, we’ve had 218 test passes across module 1 and 2 which means a massive 109 new riders safely on the road and enjoying life on two wheels.🏍️
Well done to everyone!!!🥇

Lots of content to come over the next few months. We’ll be sure to keep you up to date on all of your successes whilst also giving sneak peaks of all the fun we’ve had so far in 2025👀

🏍️ What a Start to the Season! ☀️

Since our last update in March, it’s safe to say the season has well and truly kicked off! We’ve smashed through 112 test passes and a whopping 142 CBTs making it the busiest start we’ve ever had. And it’s not slowing down any time soon!
Massive congrats to everyone who’s passed with us recently, we’ve loved being part of your journey into the two-wheel life. Welcome to the Ride Academy family! 🙌
📸 Bonus points if you spot the famous face in our recent pass photos… The Ride Academy boy band on the horizon?😆5️⃣

Outside the classroom, the team’s been having a blast too. 🏁 Dave, Luke, and Lee spent an epic couple of days at Silverstone for the MotoGP. Dave got asked to step in for a rider, but decided to decline so he didn’t mess his hair up…Yamaha were devastated of course😜

🏞️ They also squeezed in a stunning ride through the Yorkshire Dales which is always a favourite riding spot for the team.

🏃‍♂️ Luke had a less relaxing day doing the Chester Half Marathon. Not training properly caught up with him at mile 10, but seeing little Harry’s sign gave him the push to make it over the line!🏅

With the sun shining and the diary packed, it’s shaping up to be an amazing riding season. Thanks to everyone for your continued support, let’s keep the momentum going.
