🔧 Audi Q5 | EGR Fault / Coolant Loss
📋 Booking In
This Audi Q5 was booked into the garage with an EGR fault and coolant loss issue.
The vehicle had actually been to another garage previously with this ongoing issue, but unfortunately the customer had never been given a proper diagnosis or a clear route to getting the problem repaired.
That’s where we stepped in. 👇
🔍 Diagnosis
There were no visible external coolant leaks, so we suspected an internal leak within the charge cooler/EGR system.
To investigate further, we removed the temperature sensor for access and carried out a pressure test of the cooling system.
The charge cooler internal assembly was then inspected, where we identified a minor internal leak — giving us the answer we needed to move forward with the repair.
🛠️ Outcome
A genuine Audi charge cooler assembly was required. The part was initially on back order with no ETA, but fortunately it arrived within a few weeks, allowing us to get the customer booked straight back in.
We replaced the charge cooler with a genuine replacement unit, resolving the coolant loss issue. ✅
While the vehicle was with us, we also noticed the key battery needed replacing, so we took care of that too as a little gesture of goodwill to our customer. 🔑
⭐ WHY WE DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY
This is exactly why we put so much emphasis on proper diagnosis.
We don't believe in guessing, replacing parts unnecessarily or simply sending a vehicle back out without finding the actual cause of the problem.
Our aim is to diagnose the fault properly, explain what we've found and carry out the correct repair.
Hopefully, this Audi Q5 has shown that we're not just your average garage. We set a high standard for the work we do, and we intend to keep it that way. 💯
