The Riley & Scott MKIII C represents a significant advance over its predecessor, the MKIII. Built upon the experience gained from the Cadillac Northstar LMP program, this LMP1 is distinguished by its considerably stiffer chassis and enhanced aerodynamic downforce.
Notable improvements include a six-speed X-Trac sequential gearbox with paddle shifters, as well as carbon brakes. Audi engineers even analyzed the MKIII C in their wind tunnel, praising its exceptional design. The MKIII C demonstrated remarkable performance, finishing second at the 2002 24 Hours of Daytona and third at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The Riley & Scott MKIII C #005 is the final chassis built by Riley & Scot. Under the leadership of Jim Matthews, the car participated in the American Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, achieving a noteworthy performance including a seventh grid position and a competitive lap time of 3:37:476.
Chassis #005 then transitioned to historic racing events, achieving remarkable success by winning the Endurance Racing Legends Championship in 2022 and securing third place in both 2023 and 2024.
It is ready to conquer new podiums in 2026.
