A little follow-up to the Troopy suspension upgrade we shared earlier today. ❤️

While we had the Pegler family's Troopy, in the workshop for her suspension upgrade, the family borrowed our little Swifty and headed over to Straddie for a few days.

And while they were away, their daughter drew this for us.

Thanks, Pegler family - this one's getting framed and going straight up on our office wall. ❤️

A recent GVM suspension upgrade for this VDJ78 Troopy. 🔧

We fitted Terrain Tamer parabolic leaf springs out back, with Fortified heavy-duty springs and shocks up front.

Quite a difference when you see that hefty old rear leaf pack compared to the new parabolics!

Out with the old. In with the new. 👌

Ever wondered what's actually inside that big metal box under your car?

A Ford Ranger 6-speed manual gearbox has over 100 individual parts - and rebuilding one involves a whole lot more than simply replacing the broken bits. 🔧

The gearbox is completely stripped down, with components thoroughly cleaned, inspected and measured for wear or damage. Worn or damaged parts are replaced where needed, clearances are checked and adjusted, and then it all starts going back together - in the right place, in the right order.

Here we are fitting the 5th/6th selector hub and 6th gear as this Ranger gearbox comes back together.

With this many components, every piece has its place.

Not all classics rumble… some brap. 😎

This hard-to-miss Mazda RX-2 came in with a pretty decent driveline vibration that needed some attention.

So far we've rebuilt the 9-inch diff, fitted a Torque Worm limited-slip centre and a new tailshaft, which has knocked around 80% of the vibration out.

Next up is working with the tailshaft angles to chase down what's left and get the setup as good as we can.

Luckily, chasing driveline problems is kinda our thing. 🔧

And yep… the colour certainly got our attention too. 💗

The old Lancer has officially hung up the keys after many years of faithful service.

That leaves Swifty holding the fort!

We promised the Holden fans we'd have one for you... 😉

This genuine Holden Torana XU-1 has been with its owner for 30 years and was in the workshop for a gearbox rebuild and differential freshen-up.

We love seeing these old classics come through the workshop. Keeping them on the road and running the way they should is what we do — and when it's a genuine XU-1, it's a pretty good day at work.

Now it's time to settle the score...

Not every service goes to plan...

This Honda Type R came in for a routine service, but over-tightened wheel nuts had damaged a wheel stud from each wheel, preventing a simple tyre rotation.

After fitting genuine Honda replacement studs, it was back together and ready to go.

A good reminder that tighter isn't always better. Correct wheel nut torque today, can save time, money and frustration tomorrow.

This Ford XL Falcon ute came into the workshop for a 3-speed gearbox rebuild, differential rebuild, and a taller diff ratio conversion to make it a more relaxed cruiser on our roads.

We love seeing these old Aussie classics come through the workshop. Whether it's a gearbox, differential or driveline rebuild, it's always a privilege to help keep these pieces of Australian motoring history on the road.
