You hit the pothole. You felt it in your spine. Now your suspension has to deal with the consequences.

Your vehicle's suspension is made up of several hardworking components including shock absorbers, struts, springs, control arms and bushings. Their job is to keep your tyres planted firmly on the road while keeping your ride comfortable and controlled. The problem is that potholes don't play fair.

A hard impact can knock your wheel alignment out, damage tyres, wear out shocks and bushings, and put extra stress on suspension components.

If your steering suddenly feels off, your car pulls to one side, or you've started hearing new knocks and rattles after hitting a pothole, it may be time for a quick inspection.

Your suspension should be working hard. It shouldn't be working overtime.
