REPAIR OF THE WEEK – 2017 RAM 2500

This Ram 2500 came into Eurasian Autoworks with a couple of very different concerns!

🔨 Rocker Panel Repair
The truck had significant rust on the rocker panel. Joe took care of the rocker repair, getting rid of the damaged, rusted section and addressing the body concern.

🔧 Engine Diagnosis
The client also told us the truck was shaking badly and felt like it was going to stall.

During a test drive, Dave found a misfire on cylinder 6. He swapped the ignition coil from cylinder 6 to cylinder 3, but the misfire stayed on cylinder 6—helping rule out the coil as the cause.

Cylinder 6 is an MDS cylinder, and Dave also heard a squeaking noise while the misfire was occurring, which can be an indication of lifter and camshaft damage.

The next step is removing the valve cover for further inspection, with a failed lifter and damaged camshaft being the suspected cause.

From rust repair to in-depth engine diagnostics, this Ram is getting the attention it needs from our team. 💪

REPAIR OF THE WEEK

This 2004 Toyota Tundra with the 4.7L V8 came in for a timing belt replacement, with Dave taking care of the job.

Before moving forward with a larger repair like this, we performed a multipoint inspection to check over the rest of the vehicle and make the client aware of any other issues. This helps our clients make an informed decision before investing in a major repair.

During the timing belt service, Dave also replaced the water pump, which was leaking. Since the water pump is accessed during the timing belt job, it makes sense to replace it at the same time rather than paying for overlapping labor again later.

We also replaced the front struts to address additional wear.
