🚩 “WE’LL MATCH OR BEAT ANY PRICE!” sounds great… but think about what that actually means.
If I’m a customer and I walk into a dealership that advertises price matching, one of my first questions is:
Why didn’t you just give me your best price to begin with?
Think about it.
You visit their location, spend your time looking at homes, sit down with a salesperson, and get a price. Then they basically tell you:
“Go shop everybody else. Drive around. Get quotes. Find somebody willing to sell it cheaper. Then bring that price back to us and maybe we’ll match or beat it.”
So now YOU have to spend your hard-earned time, gas, and money driving from dealership to dealership trying to figure out who is actually willing to work the hardest for your business.
And after you finally find someone who offered you a better deal… you’re supposed to go back to the dealership that tried to charge you more in the first place and give them another opportunity?
That doesn’t make sense to me.
At Homes by Colton, my philosophy is completely different.
✅ I go to work for YOU from the beginning.
My promise is to give you the best possible price I can on my product upfront. I’m not going to intentionally leave thousands of dollars on the table just to see if you’ll accept it.
I don’t want to send you on a scavenger hunt around Texas looking for a better deal and then ask you to come back so I can suddenly “find” more money.
I want to earn your business the first time.
And there’s another part of this advertisement that catches my attention…
Look closely at the tiny fine print underneath that giant “BEAT OR MATCH ANY DEAL” statement:
“Subject to Retailer Approval.”
If the promise is huge enough to cover the side of a house, but the qualification is so small you can barely read it, I think it’s fair for customers to ask exactly what that promise really means and what conditions come with it.
Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make.
Who you buy from matters just as much as what you buy.
You’re not just choosing a floor plan. You’re choosing the people who will help you through financing, delivery, setup, construction, utilities, closing, service, and everything else that comes with putting a home on your property.
That relationship should start with trust.
Not games.
Not gimmicks.
Not tricks.
Not hurdles.
And definitely not making you do the dealership’s negotiating for them.
