Tropical Storm Edouard is nearing landfall today, and it will bring some sporty winds and heavy rainfall into the upper Texas coast. For the most part the worst of these impacts will be east and north of Houston, but we’re still eyeing the potential for heavy rainfall, especially east of Interstate 45.

As a very disorganized Bertha pushes through today, Houston will see a few gusty downpours, some very minor coastal flooding and...not much else. It will be cooler today thanks to the storm. It is likely to fall apart before reaching us—that’s exactly what we like to hear! We are still keeping a close eye on Bertha and will continue monitoring any changes.

Tropical Storm Bertha formed overnight, and as it gets whacked by wind shear, it seems likely to fall apart before reaching Texas. While this could mean a few showers or storms Friday, what we're watching more closely this week is the heat. 100 degrees is likely by tomorrow, with hot weather continuing into next week.
