So great to be back on with water with longtime friend Rob Mock with his Cleveland crew Chad and K2, with Daniel Georgianni and Cliff Haddox. Getting Zippity recalibrated. She still has wheels when the set up is right. Very tight racing with very little margin for error.

Thank you to Bill Mead for setting the right rig tension, and having “ Spitire” smoking fast in light air. We got back to the dock and the uppers were at 34, intermediate at 15, and lowers with 4 inches of slack. I would have sailed with much less tension. With four bodies on board, we were super light and with some backstay on to open up the mainsail we seem to have the right combination, jib sheet adjusted constantly, and finding breeze and staying in it.

We have had two simply amazing days on Galveston Bay in a row for Memorial Day weekend. Saturday tested a delaminating 2005 jib with severe consequences, Sunday had more success with a 2009 Kevlar model…photo credits Kevin and Gayle Cook.
