This 2014 Audi S4 supercharged owner did something most people never do.

He did not wait for rough idle, hard starts or a check engine light.

He sent his injectors in as a preventive service, because he knows what a supercharged engine demands and he was not willing to wait for symptoms to force his hand.

A supercharged application is not forgiving with injector inconsistency.

The boost pressure, with all of the heat, demanding on the fuel system. The margin for error is much smaller. And the varnish and carbon deposits building up inside those injectors do not announce themselves until the engine starts telling you in the most expensive way possible. So true!

A number of E7T20171 GDI fuel injectors just arrived at Injector Experts for a racing Mazda C3.

Stop spraying brake cleaner down your injectors. It is not cleaning anything.

At Injector Experts every injector gets a proper backflush using the correct specialized fluid, reversed flow direction, correct pressure.
Carbon, varnish and debris forced out the way they came in. The right way.

Those tiny nozzle holes are too precise for brake cleaner and good intentions.

He called us desperate. Daily driver down. Kids to get to school. Work the next morning. He needed his car back by tomorrow.
So we got straight to work. Three stage ultrasonic cleaning. Full flow testing. New O-rings and filter baskets. Individual report for every injector. No shortcuts just because the clock was moving.

When we test GDI fuel injectors we MUST test at the correct pressure.
Not 43.5 PSI, that is port Injector pressure, these are GDI, totally different!

In this case, for the video, we started at 180 BAR. (That is 2610 PSI)
That is sixty times the pressure of a standard port injector test!

Testing a GDI injector at 43.5 PSI does not give you a low quality result. It gives you a meaningless one!
Is that serious, and that is why we talk about serious matters all the time, we keep seeing the same over and over!
