Happy 75th Birthday to Walter de Silva!
(Born on 27 February 1951, not far from Milan, Italy.)

During his tenure as Director of Centro Stile Alfa Romeo between 1986 and 1999, a number of important and highly successful Alfas were launched - including the 166, 156, 147, and the Nuvola concept pictured here in his sketch.
Perhaps even more importantly, under his guidance the core design philosophy of “Bellezza Necessaria” was adopted as the defining mantra of Alfa Romeo design - a credo that remains valid to this day.
