This is a radar sensor for a vehicle we're working on. This one in particular sits inside the rear bumper and detects objects for you as you're backing up. You can hear it at work when your car beeps when you back out of the driveway. What you might not know is that most manufacturers use a special mixture of paint for certain parts of the vehicle, like on the rear bumper, for example. This is done so the radar sensor can accurately detect objects crossing by your vehicle so it can notify you when to brake.

However, aftermarket rear bumpers may not meet these standards, potentially compromising the radar's accuracy. Some examples of that might include excessive metal flake in the paint. uneven paint application or even material thickness. That's why we recommend that you use OEM parts when repairing your vehicle. Because you never know what you're going to get.

The aftermarket part may be cheaper, but that's why it is cheaper. Your provider won't tell you that. They'll just tell you it's the cheapest option. There's always a reason why it's cheaper. A customer came in after a deer hit the side of their vehicle. Kind of an odd spot for an impact. What we ended up doing was sectioning off the back portion of this truck from the rear driver's side door, to where the cab meets the truck bed. We took all of that apart, and restored it back to its pre-collision condition. If you're in need of service call or stop in today!
