Robinson Wins Wild Pro Late Model Finale at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway
Eight Feature Winners Highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Night as Championship Battles Heat Up
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 3, 2026) β A beautiful evening for racing greeted competitors and fans at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on Saturday as Breast Cancer Awareness Night featured eight divisions of racing on the historic 5/8-mile and quarter-mile ovals. From thrilling side-by-side battles to an unexpected conclusion in the 100-lap headliner, the evening provided plenty of excitement as the Speedway completed its final race night before November's All American 400 Weekend.
Brett Robinson of New Albany, Indiana, emerged victorious in the Pro Late Model 100, while Chad Chaffin captured the Street Stock feature on the 5/8-mile. Quarter-mile victories went to Jeff Belt, Galen Clark, Matt Barnes, Taylor Jorgensen, Brett Lee and Jordan Bauer.
Robinson Capitalizes on Late-Race Drama to Win Pro Late Model 100
Seventeen competitors took the green flag for Saturday's 100-lap Pro Late Model feature, the final tune-up before the November 7 All American 100.
Chase Johnson drew the pole position during the redraw and appeared to have the car to beat throughout much of the evening. Johnson led the opening 50 laps, with Conner Popplewell running second as part of a competitive seven-car group at the front of the field. The entire first half went caution-free before a scheduled competition caution at halfway.
On the ensuing double-file restart, Johnson, Popplewell and Hunter Wright traded paint in a spirited battle for the lead. Johnson maintained the top spot, while Wright moved into second.
As the second half unfolded, Johnson continued building his advantage, with Wright the only competitor able to remain relatively close. However, an incident with just 11 laps remaining completely changed the complexion of the race.
A body panel came off Jackson Boone's car on the frontstretch, bringing out a caution and setting up a late-race shootout. Johnson selected the inside lane for the restart, with Wright lining up alongside.
Wright gained the advantage when the green flag returned, but Johnson pulled alongside through turns one and two. The two made side-to-side contact in turn two, lost momentum and triggered a major multi-car accident involving much of the field.
Following an extended red flag, Robinson lined up on the outside for the ensuing restart. The New Albany, Indiana, driver used the outside lane to make the winning pass and pulled away over the closing laps to secure his second victory of the 2026 season.
The victory also allowed Robinson to extend his championship points lead heading toward the season finale.
Despite the late-race disappointment, Johnson recovered to finish second, followed by Ben Mack, Anthony Bello and Jackson Boone.

Chaffin Charges to Street Stock Victory Following Late Restart
The 35-lap Street Stock feature produced another exciting race on the historic 5/8-mile.
Michael Pannell took the early lead before veteran Chuck Barnes Jr. moved into the top spot on lap seven. Barnes began building a comfortable advantage, with Murfreesboro, Tennessee's Chad Chaffin remaining within striking distance.
As the race moved beyond halfway, Barnes began pulling away while Chaffin struggled with his car sliding through the corners. Meanwhile, several competitive battles developed throughout the field.
The first caution arrived on lap 25 following an incident involving Dillon Oliver and Pannell coming off turn two.
The caution proved to be the turning point.
With his tires cooled down, Chaffin's No. 3C came to life on the restart. He raced past Barnes one lap after the green flag returned and maintained the lead for the remainder of the event.
Beau Mitchell moved into second, while Barnes finished third. Sam McCord and Ayden Oliver completed the top five.
