Porter Flea Summer returns with our ticketed Preview Market on Friday, Dec 9th from 6-9pm with our Main Market on Saturday, Dec 110th from 10a-5pm.

will take place indoors at the Nashville Fairgrounds featuring all your favorite Vendors to shop small this holiday season! A collection of Nashville's finest food trucks will be serving up seasonal food and drink options both days alongside local craft brewery, Jackalope.

Nashville’s Porter Flea was launched in July 2011, with a focus on celebrating modern handmade goods. Now in its sixth year, the juried and curated, semi-annual market is led by Katie Vance and her husband, HollerDesign owner Matt Alexander, who continue an emphasis on the handmade art and design movement, local businesses and community building. Along with connecting hundreds of local/regional makers with tens of thousands of shoppers, Porter Flea has earned consistent press praise, including being named Best Artisan Market by the Nashville Scene in 2012, and appearing in Southern Living, Garden & Gun, Native, Forbes Travel Guide, StyleBlueprint and other publications.

Porter Flea was started by and for makers in July 2011. Back then we only had 35 vendors set up in a parking lot, but we grew and grew, and now we’re indoors with heat 💅🏼 showcasing 200+ of the best vendors in the country. Owners Katie Vance (of Powell | Architecture Interiors Construction ) and her husband Matt Alexander are decades-long advocates for the handmade art and design movement. Their goal is always to connect small businesses with thousands of shoppers! A moment of appreciation for our senior returning vendors, whose well of creativity is bottomless. Our market is what it is because of you. You were there for all our growing pains and still showed up year after year! Like Garner Blue . What hasn’t she indigo dyed?! We’ve seen woven tote bags, wooden ornaments, stockings, bedding, play tents, directors chairs; in 2020 she made us beautiful masks; she has dyed aprons and shirts and bras and throw pillows and even little patches for our summer camp themed market. And after all that, her best PF memory is freezing in a tent outside at Oz Arts (our most disastrous market ever), wearing her own scarves to stay warm and hanging with Laura Baisden 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

We’d be lying if we said our holiday sweater theme wasn’t inspired by you, our wonderful shoppers! Last December, preview night was full of fun, quirky, colorful knits and we thought every single one of them was absolutely brilliant. Maybe this December we’ll even have a best sweater contest 😉

Who should apply to Porter Flea Holiday Market?
Anyone who sells their own handmade goods and/or original designs! We accept everything from your standard jewelry and ceramics to insect taxidermy. The sky is the limit as long as your work is powered by good ol’ human creativity.

Our jury also looks for:
1. Clear branding. That means consistency across packaging—a logo, a font, a color palette— and little tag line describing your goods. Be sure to put the tagline in places like your Instagram bio and website “about” page, where our jury can see it without digging.

2. A respectful attitude toward other vendors both in person and online.

3. Novelty! People shop at Porter Flea because it’s where they know they can find stuff they can’t get anywhere else. Whether that means the quality, look, or function of your goods is up to you.

4. Consistency across products. A certain signature style that is uniquely you, no matter what the medium or price point. Art often evolves over time and we love to see vendors experimenting, but generally speaking, successful makers have a special touch that unites their work. Dont throw everything at the wall just to see what sticks!

5. Seasonally appropriate goods. Remember our theme for holiday is *sweater* and products inspired by it will make your application more desirable! If your theme products aren’t ready to photograph yet, tell us about them in the written section.
