Today the forecast contains extremely dangerous weather for our area.

I will try to keep you informed, however please rely on weather alerts. At any given time we may be without power. I will try to answer all texts, messages and calls.

Please make sure your phone is charged, flash lights have batteries, and you have a supply of water. Please do not stay in your camper during warnings.

We will report power outages.

Bathhouse is a place to seek shelter during severe weather.

We will post park assessments when it is safe for us to do so. Our prayer is this all weakens and dissipates.

To all of our campers:

We are so sorry for the damage the park has sustained. We are literally sick over the campers that were destroyed yet thankful no one was hurt or killed.

Ray and James came today to begin some clean up. We have a professional coming this evening to assess the trees for us and to get clean up going. Many of the trees exceed what we can do.

We have been on the phone all day to get someone to come. Most can estimate but no cutting for three weeks out. I have relentlessly pursued help and secured it.

Darrell Powell will be meeting with him just in case Ray can’t make it back to you guys.

This has been a very difficult day knowing we cannot fix it all, the pics of the damages, the pics of the losses and hearing my husband stating how bad it is.

We love you all and are diligently working behind the scenes and on scene as well. It feels horrible to see it all let alone the personal impact many of you have felt. I have cried a million tears and prayed just as much.

At 749 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Brookston, or 10 miles northeast of Otterbein, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Monticello, Brookston, Wolcott, Reynolds, Chalmers, Burnettsville, Badger Grove, Golden Hill, Norway, Smithson, Idaville, and Cedar Point. This includes Interstate 65 between mile markers 185 and 198.

Power outage: 70 places are without power near Walnut Ridge as well as Walnut Ridge.
Nipsco will be arriving by 10:30 AM!

We have coordinated with Darrell Powell to be the onsite person in charge at Walnut Ridge.

Please know we take all concerns seriously however he is our onsite point of contact since we are not onsite. Darrell is more than happy to work alongside us and we appreciate all of his help to this point.

Reminders:
1. No one under the age of 16 is to be driving golf carts alone without a DL! No exceptions!!
2. Please be mindful of the park speed limit!
3.
If the dumpster is full do NOT put trash on the ground!
