We are a general automotive repair shop that also specializes in performance upgrades/custom builds.

This C7 Corvette rolled into KP Performance & Automotive needing some love in the torque tube department.

The plan was simple:
Bad bushings ➡️ replace bushings ➡️ send it home.

The Corvette had other plans. 😂

Once we got everything apart, we found the bearing had spun and the torque tube itself was damaged.

So the repair went from:

🔧 “We’ll put some bushings in it.”

to:

💸 “Well… you’re getting a whole torque tube.” 😂

Not exactly the surprise anybody wants, but once we’re this deep into a C7, we’re fixing it right. No Band-Aids, no “it’ll probably be fine,” and definitely no putting a damaged tube back in and pretending we didn’t see it. 👀

New torque tube installed, Corvette back together, and another one ready to hurt some feelings. 🇺🇸🏁

We will be closing early tomorrow at 11am to spend time with our family for the 4th of July weekend.

At KP Performance & Automotive, we work on just about everything that comes through the door.

🔥 Shop Tip 🔥

Just because your vehicle has a code for a part doesn't mean that part is bad.

We see it all the time. Someone gets a code scanned, buys the part it mentions, installs it, and the problem is still there.

A check engine light is a symptom, not a diagnosis.

I've seen people replace sensors, coils, fuel pumps, and all kinds of parts chasing a problem that could have been found with proper testing from the start.
