The raffle will be done September 21, 2024 at 5pm at the American legion in mineral wells there will be BBQ plates available also there is a auction with lots of cool stuff and a silent auction also come out and support Kathy

Kathy was in a terrible car accident and it has left her with having to have multiple surgeries and not being able to work she has helped so many people out in life she's a very good woman her house has always been open for anyone who needed a place to eat cool off she knows no stranger plz come out and help us support her during this hard time thank u in advance I will post pic of flyer for benefit tomorrow when I pick them up thanks again

Earlier today as I stopped to get some gas at a local gas station a van pulled up beside me and I could tell from the man's facial expression something wasn't quite right.
So I rolled down my window and asked "Is everything okay sir?" He replied with " I'm not sure what's wrong with my car " I jumped out and said "pop the hood buddy".
As I stood there and looked under the hood and put a tester on the battery I found out pretty quick that his battery wasn't charging because the alternator was malfunctioning.
I asked him "how far do you live from here?" He responded with "only a mile down the road" I told him "I will charge your battery enough for you to make it home but you will unfortunately need an alternator".
He said " I honestly don't have the money to fix it."
I reached in my pocket and gave him my business card with my number and said " when you make it home call me and I'll come over and take care of it".
He said "why would you do that for someone you don't even know?"
I said "because you're never too important to be nice to people". Be kind to everyone u don't know what they going through.

Next time you say "damn, must be nice" you might want to understand a lifestyle that made it possible!

8-5 didn't make it.
Parking on the couch to watch TV didnt make it.
Sleeping in on Saturdays didnt make it.
Calling in when sick didnt make it.
Being content with where we're at didnt make it.

It came from some 13-17 hour days.
It came from beating the sun up.
It came from working on weekends.
It came from sacrificing family time.
It came from wanting a little better tomorrow.

These are a few things to consider before you throw out "damn, must be nice" at someone! We are all products of our competence. And extra efforts are what make the biggest differences at the end of the day!
