I have studied air conditioning extensively, along with training, and updated my tools over the years to better assist customers. Diagnosing A/C issues is my top priority. This customer had their vehicle 'repaired' elsewhere without resolution. Upon reviewing the vehicle, I saw that several new components, such as the compressor, expansion valve, and receiver dryer, had been installed. Due to low refrigerant levels, I pressure-tested the system with nitrogen and identified a leak at the expansion valve. After getting the go-ahead for repairs, I re-tested the system and found it still leaking (not from the expansion valve repair). It turned out the receiver dryer was improperly mounted and sealed with bent lines. Am I the cheapest? Probably not, but I'm not the most expensive either; however, it would have been cheaper if I had repaired it originally.

Another day, another Jeep! This particular Jeep was in for a brake inspection. While I was removing the wheels to inspect the brakes, I smelled the oh-so-familiar smell of gear oil! Found the rear axle seals leaking, repaired the seals, and replaced the brakes. Cleaned up all the buildup as best we could with a pressure washer, degreaser, and elbow grease. There's only so much you can do with that stuff unless you replace components, which isn't necessary. I try my best to document all failures within our RO, even though we might not necessarily share it with customers all the time; we normally document it, and this has saved my behind more than once.

GM 4.2L
Wiring harness loom repair before and after. It did not have an issue yet, but was soon to have one. The loom tends to deteriorate, and the vibrations from the engine will cause the wires to rub through the insulation and cause a short.

We experienced a power outage at 12pm today. Unfortunately, we remain without power and do not have an estimated restoration time. As a result, we will be closing for the day. We will resume operations on Monday. Have a great weekend!

I will be out on Wednesday, the 23rd, for sure. This morning, I was feeling a little off, but I felt a lot better late morning and early afternoon. Fast-forward to this evening, and I am running a fairly high fever. This will be my first sick leave since January 2020; I'm sure you know the reason for that time. I have not been sick enough since then to leave work. The schedule is going to be all messed up for weeks, so beware. My books are currently knocking on the 2nd week in August, but I'll figure out the best of it and make it through. I am not sure how many days I'll be out; it will depend on what I have, I suppose. Thank you for your understanding.

I'll be short-handed for 2-3 weeks. Phone answering may not be as prompt as normal, but I will do my best. Please leave a message if I don't answer, and I'll return your call throughout the day as I get time. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your understanding.
