Last lap for the win Friday night

Race recap from last weekend
Friday night
Won the feature by 7 seconds Friday had hot laps i got quickest time no heats no dash
Saturday
Went out got 3rd quick
Trophy dash
Started pole got up front after a cupple laps and held it down got 1st
Heat
Started 4th worked my short way up front and got 1st
Main
Started 9th 2 cars decided to move to the back few laps come arround worked my way up front held down the lead for about 18 laps caution comes on the 21st lap Started single file stayed up fromt and ended up 1st!
Over all a great weekend by far the best I've had

Over all a pretty good night last saturday
Qualifying got 4th quick wasant aiming for trophy dash was getting a feel for the car with the changes made but pretty cool to make it
Trophy dash starter front row inside fell back to 3rd running a crappy line oh well got a feel for the car and a better line to run
Heat race started 4th worked my way up to 2nd if I had a cupple more laps could have got 1st was flying up on him
Main started 7th slowly worked my way up playing it carefully was running 4th for a while and decided to dive below 3rd place and barly got arround him for 3rd and ended out right with my best finish this year couldnt thank all my sponsors and everyone that has helped me enough

Hi, I’m Jacob Matlock.

I’m still one of the younger guys out here, but I’ve got some pretty big goals. I work hard, I race hard, and someday I want to own my own business and build something I can be proud of.

Racing keeps me focused, teaches me a lot, and most importantly, keeps me out of trouble. I figure if I’m going to spend my money somewhere, I might as well spend it on tires, fuel, and race parts instead of something that gets me grounded, arrested, or both.

I race a Hornet at Willamette Speedway, and lately things are finally starting to click. In my last race, I finished 4th, and for the first time it really feels like I’m starting to work my way toward the front.

The bad news is… I’ve pretty much reached the point where determination alone isn’t going to make the car faster.

Apparently race parts still cost actual money.

So I’m looking for a little help.

I’m selling sponsor spots on my car for just $50 each. I’m not asking one person to do everything. I’m just hoping enough people might be willing to help a little so I can make the upgrades I need and keep racing.

Because the truth is, if I can’t get some help, I may be done just as I’m finally starting to get somewhere.

And that would be pretty hard to swallow.

Every $50 spot helps with fuel, tires, entry fees, or parts. But to me, it also means somebody looked at a young kid trying to work hard, stay out of trouble, and chase something positive and said, “Keep going.”

I can’t promise I’ll win every race.

I can’t even promise I won’t add a few more dents to the car.

I can promise I’ll work for it, keep learning, and give it everything I have.

And someday, if I do get that business started and make something out of myself, I hope I can look back at this little Hornet covered in names and say:

“It all started right here, with the people who gave me a chance when I needed it most.”
