A Tribute to Steven Whitney ❤️🪽

Rescue is a lot of work. It’s not just the adoptions, adoption events, or fundraisers that can be seen by the public. There are endless hours and volunteers behind the scenes that aid in ensuring all our goals of saving pups comes to fruition.

We are lucky to have assets that provide safe passage from Oklahoma to New England for pups who have adopters waiting for them. We have a phenomenal partnership of elite tradesman at Redmond Fleet who maintain our bus “Queenie” to ensure our success of logistics. You can imagine our sadness to hear the passing of our main Mechanic Steve Whitney (Steve-o).

His abilities when Queenie had a hard break and needed an engine replacement were crucial in getting her back on the road in record time. He worked well beyond shop hours to make Queenie road worthy again. An animal lover himself he knew what any amount of downtime could mean to our mission. How lucky are we that our extended team is in this fight with us? His dedication went well past a strong work ethic and expertise in his trade but showed through as a true believer with passion for our cause. Although saddened we are beyond blessed we had him as part of our team.

You can imagine our surprise when we were informed a monetary donation was being gifted to us on his behalf from our new lead mechanic at Redmond Fleet in honor of his friend. Even beyond this world he’s looking out for us. We are saddened that he will no longer be waiting at one of the bays of Redmond Fleet to keep Queenie in top performance, but we have this feeling his spirit will be a quiet wingman blessing our travels. You see sometimes it’s what happens behind the scenes that keeps us moving.

Thank you, Steven Whitney, for being a dedicated, hardworking dog loving tradesman. Simply put for being an amazing team member. Rest easy at the rainbow bridge buddy and enjoy watching us from above because this next transport is for you.

New certified tech James knocking it out of the park on this large luxe 5th wheel. The owner may have had a mishap and bent the jack mount, but no worries Redmond Fleet has got you covered!!! We cut out the old unit and fabricated a new mount to weld in its place. Give us a call for your heavy duty truck and rv needs!!!
Don't forget we are New England's only Spartan RV service center and certified Forest River service center. Covering tow behinds, 5th wheels, motorized and bus!!!

Custom battery box had to be fabricated to replace this rusted out unit falling out of the bottom of this bus. My guys really are the best!!
