Customer service announcement. This isn't directed to most of my customers but maybe a few and maybe some customers that i have not had yet. This will be a longer post and a little bit of a rant, sorry for that. But if you call the shop and I do not answer, please leave a message. Sometimes it takes me a little to call back if it is necessary for me to call back. I had a pile of calls yesterday, probably 5 times the amount of calls I normally get in a day. Some were probably telemarketers but with the amount the phone rang yesterday I believe it was 1 or a few people calling repeatedly with the frequency of the calls. I am only 1 person doing multiple jobs in a day. Some days are absolutely horrible like yesterday, things go wrong with parts or repairs that cause me delays and takes up a large portion of my time in a day that was not accounted for in my schedule. Please do not continue to call if I do not answer, leave a voice-mail. If I didn't answer the phone, I probably will not answer in 5 or 10 minutes either. I only answer the phone if I am sitting at the desk looking up parts anymore. If I am working on a vehicle or dealing with a customer at the counter I will not answer the phone, it goes to voice-mail. This is the reason why I have voice-mail. When I close the shop during my regular business hours for any reason you will get a different message than when I am open at the shop. I turn my answering machine on at my desk, it will say I'm closed and the date and time I will reopen, it also picks up in about 2 rings. My voice-mail picks up in 5 or 6 and says I am working on a vehicle or with a customer leave a message and I'll call back as soon as possible. I do the best I can to get your vehicle in and done as soon as I can. So please do not call multiple times in a day, if I didn't answer, leave a message please. Thank You.

This post is about procrastinating having your vehicle inspected. I recommend having your vehicle checked out as early as possible, especially if it is an older vehicle, so that if it needs repairs or if there is rust that will prevent it from passing. There will be time to deal with the repairs or decide what you should do with the vehicle before it actually expires. Some customers procrastinate having their vehicle inspected and this does not help anyone involved. It is easier all the way around for everyone if you get it in earlier than the week it expires. I recently had a vehicle that wasn't even that old need the exhaust repaired to pass because it was leaking. The pipe needed is only available from Ford since the vehicle isn't 10 years old yet. It was in the last week of June for inspection. I called the dealership for price and availability of this pipe needed. I was told from the them the pipe should be available the second week of July. So 2 weeks, but it will be expired buy the time i can get the part. I called this past Tuesday and low and behold now it's eta is the second week of August, this vehicles inspection expired in June. Luckily for this customer I recently purchased a used exhaust pipe bender and was able to make a pipe to repair it, to get it to pass. Otherwise they would either have to park the vehicle until the part would show up or drive it out of inspection until it gets repaired. So sorry for the long post but the moral of the story don't wait to get your vehicle inspected, your inspection can be done 2 months before the month it expires. Also the police can cite you for the inspection being expired at 12:01 AM of the first of the month that its expired. There is no grace period for it being expired when you already own the vehicle. The only time you get a grace period is when you first purchase a vehicle you have 10 days to get it inspected after the date of purchase if it doesn't have a valid inspection.

This is an example of why you should have your frame coated with an oil type undercoating. This is a section of frame rail where they meet to pieces together. The salt and water get between them and rot from the inside out.
