Every vehicle that comes through our bay gets photographed, not just the parts that need work, the parts that are fine too.

"Why don't you just charge my AC?" is one of the questions we hear the most, especially once it hits June.

Your AC isn't like a phone battery that drains on its own and needs a top-off. It's a closed system built to keep the same refrigerant circulating for the life of the car. If it's blowing warm and it's low, that means refrigerant leaked out somewhere and if we just add more without finding the leak, you'll be low again in a few months and back to square one.

So when you bring your AC in, we're looking for where it's leaking, not just topping it off. It takes a bit more time upfront, but it means you're not paying for a "recharge" every summer.

Most people start thinking about "fall car care" once it's already fall, which means shops get slammed in October.

Here's the smarter move: the damage from a full Arizona summer is already done. Battery strain, tire wear, fluid breakdown...it's sitting there right now, before the temperature even drops. Getting ahead of it in Septemer means you're not waiting in line with everyone else.

If you've bought tires twice in the last two years and they're already wearing weird again, the tires probably aren't the problem.

Worn struts, shocks, or tie rod ends change how your tire sits on the road, and that shows up as uneven wear: cupping, feathering, wear on one edge. Replace the tires without fixing that, and you'll be back here in a year buying tires again.

We check this stuff during regular visits, not just when something feels off, because in Gilbert heat and stop-and-go traffic wear these parts down faster than most people expect. When we find something worn, we take a photo of it next to a new part so you can see it, not just take our word for it.

People ask us this a lot: "Why are you charging me for a rotor when you could just resurface the one I have?"

We do this beacuse resurfacing works by shaving a thin layer off the rotor to smooth it out. Problem is, that makes the rotor thinner, and a thinner rotor doesn't pull heat away from your brakes as well. That's what turns into the squeak six months from now, or the pedal that shakes when you brake hard.

Most of the time, a new rotor only costs a little more in labor than resurfacing the old one. So we tell you straight: if resurfacing means you're back in our bay in a few months for the same problem, we're not going to sell you that.
