2017 Subaru BRZ Dyno Tune Results
This BRZ came in with an intake, header, and catback exhaust. The baseline pull on the stock tune made 178.2 HP, and after tuning we finished at 185.8 HP.
What makes this result interesting is that these gains were made strictly through variable valve timing / AVCS adjustments. No ignition timing tables or fueling tables were changed.
This is a great example of why having the car on a dyno matters. Without dyno data, you’re just guessing at whether the changes you’re making are actually helping or hurting. On the dyno, we can see exactly how each adjustment affects the power curve, torque curve, and overall drivability.
Small calibration changes can make real, measurable improvements when you have the right tools and data in front of you.
