We’re excited to introduce Logan as part of the Cascade Brake & Alignment team! 🛠️

Before joining Cascade, Logan spent 8 years at Discount Tire, bringing years of hands-on experience, knowledge, and a serious work ethic with him. He’s one of those people who just gets it. He works hard, pays attention to the details, and most importantly, puts safety first for every customer and every vehicle that comes through our shop.

That commitment to doing things the right way is exactly what we’re all about at Cascade. We’re proud to have Logan on our team and know our customers are in great hands when their vehicles are on his lift. A recent customer shared their experience with Logan in a review, “I also had an opportunity to meet shop mechanic Logan, and he was equally impressive, both personally, and professionally.”

If you stopped by the shop in September, you might have noticed that Logan wasn’t around. That’s because Logan and Emily were welcoming their first family addition, a sweet baby girl named Oakley!

Head over to Thurston High School for Pink Night, an amazing community fundraiser supporting the fight against breast cancer!

We’re excited to have donated a gift basket equipped with a CBA hat, brake service coupon, portable tire inflator and more (all stuffed into a weatherproof tactical case!) for the event!

Last week, a customer came into the shop and asked Matt if he could take a look at his car.

During the inspection, Matt found something pretty concerning: the brakes were essentially nonexistent.

He showed the customer what he found and gave him a quote for the repair. The customer let Matt know that replacing the brakes just wasn’t financially possible for him at the time.

Matt knew he couldn’t feel good about sending him back out on the road in that condition.
So he told him, “We’ll fix it. If and when you have the money, come back and pay us.”

No financing paperwork. No special program. Just a handshake.

We’re able to make decisions like that every once in a while because of the people who continue to support our shop. Every appointment, every referral, every review, and every person who trusts us with their vehicle allows us to turn around and take care of someone else when they need it.

People helping people when they can. That’s the kind of business, and the kind of community, we want to be part of.

(Btw, the customer returned today and paid his invoice in full!)

Who is Cascade Brake and Alignment?

If you’ve been following along, you know what Cascade does. But we thought it was time to introduce a little more of the who behind it.

We’re Matt and McKenna, a husband-and-wife team, parents, life-long Oregonians, and the people behind Cascade Brake and Alignment.

For Matt, working on vehicles has been his career for more than a decade. He’s the one you’ll find in the shop; diagnosing the weird noise, doing the repair, answering your questions, and probably remembering something about your vehicle from the last time you were in.

McKenna is mostly behind the scenes. She handles a lot of the marketing (Hi!), organization, and all the little things that come with building a business from the ground up… every now and then you’ll catch her at the front desk. If you’re really lucky, you’ll find her ‘supervising’ in the shop (sorry Matt!).

And somewhere in the middle of all of that is our little boy, Callahan, who gets to grow up watching his parents build something of their own, and handing his dad a 10mm!

Outside of work, we’re happiest outdoors; camping, hunting, fishing, and soaking up everything Oregon has to offer. We love the outdoors, we love our community, and we’re dang proud to call the USA home. 🇺🇸

Cascade came from a pretty simple idea: we wanted to build a shop that felt like us.
Honest. Hardworking. Down-to-earth. A place where people are treated well, people leave the shop safer on the road, and taking care of the customer matters just as much as taking care of their vehicle.

We’re a small family business in the truest sense. There are late nights, long days, a lot of figuring things out as we go.

No, seriously. Let's talk tire rotation! What is it, and why is it important?

On most vehicles, the front tires carry more weight, do the steering, and handle most of the braking. This can cause them to wear out much faster than the rear tires. Uneven wear and low tread depth is dangerous on the road and can lead to an accident.

Think of it like this: your car is wearing stilettos in the back, and flip-flops in the front! 👠🩴

Moving tires from the front to the rear can help all four tires wear more evenly, extend the life of your tires, and improve handling and traction. Rotations at Cascade Brake and Alignment are always free.

Meet the guy behind the wrench!

If you've stopped by Cascade Brake & Alignment, you've probably already talked with Matt.

After more than a decade in the automotive industry, he saw firsthand that taking care of people is just as important as taking care of vehicles. He wanted to build a shop where customers felt comfortable asking questions, recommendations were honest, and safety always came before sales. He'd rather spend an extra hour doing something right than rush it out the door. He's the type who double-checks his own work even when no one is watching.
(I'm not kidding, he came home one night and watched camera footage from the shop to triple check his work!)

Beyond the shop, Matt is a husband, dad, and avid outdoorsman. There isn't much of Oregon that Matt hasn't explored, and he's always looking for a reason to head out on the next adventure!

One of the coolest things about opening Cascade is that so many of the people who walk through our doors today aren't meeting Matt for the first time. Customers he met years ago have sought him out and want him to continue caring for their vehicles; a real testament to the trust he's built over the last decade!

Cascade Brake & Alignment is a reflection of who he is: hardworking, honest, and committed to doing things the right way.

Is your car trying to tell you something?

Your vehicle gives you little clues when something isn’t quite right. Catching them early can save you money, and keep you and others safer on the road.

📢 Squealing when you brake?
Your brake pads may be worn and it’s time for an inspection.

🛞 Steering wheel shakes at highway speeds?
Your tires may need to be balanced, or there could be a suspension issue causing the vibration.

↔️ Car pulls to one side?
This could mean you need an alignment, have uneven tire pressure, or even a brake issue.

⚠️ Uneven tire wear?
That’s often a sign of alignment or suspension problems. Replacing tires without fixing the cause usually means they’ll wear out again.

🔊 Clunking over bumps?
Your suspension components may be worn and should be checked before they affect handling.

Not every noise or vibration means something major, but it’s always worth having it looked at before it becomes a bigger (and more expensive) repair. Inspections are always free- we just want to keep you safely on the road.
