🌳 HIGH SCHOOL TRAGEDY: TREE CRUSHES CARS, KILLING 18-YEAR-OLD KENCERIO WALKER, NYKERIA JOHNSON, AND HER FATHER

Swainsboro, GA — The air was filled with excitement as graduates walked across the stage, but that joy quickly became heartbreak. Kencerio Walker, Nykeria Johnson, and James Walker were struck and killed when a tree fell across Highway 56 South on May 23, 2026.

The accident left the Swainsboro community reeling, with students, families, and friends mourning lives full of potential. Social media posts captured the shock, grief, and disbelief of those who had celebrated with the victims only hours earlier.

James Walker, a respected father and community figure, and the young graduates had futures that were cruelly cut short. How does a community process loss so sudden and unimaginable? Candlelight vigils and online tributes now honor their memory, reminding residents of life’s fragility.
