Congratulations to Rescue 03, Engine 18, and 780 who were presented with a Life Saving Award for saving the life of a 53 year-old woman who was in cardiac arrest. Her family members reported she pointed to her chest before passing out. They began CPR until paramedics arrived just minutes later. The crew worked perfectly tandem to manage her airway, give her one shock, and medication. They got a pulse back by the time they arrived at the hospital. She was able to walk out of the hospital neurologically intact!

Great job, y’all!

Today was the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the brand new Dallas Fire Station 21 and Airport Operations Building at Dallas Love Field Airport . The state-of-the-art facility is the second-largest Airport Rescue Firefighting station in Texas and fourth largest in the U.S. It is home to the World’s First All-Electric Airport Rescue Firefighting vehicle, the ePanther, which we unveiled in April.

The new building features:
🚒 An immersive, on-site Aircraft Emergency Simulator that prepares firefighters, airport partners, and emergency management teams for any aircraft incident
🚒Station 21 is fully integrated for electrified emergency response units including the Panther Electric, xCharge Super Charger, and a complete backup generator for uninterrupted operations.
🚒An integrated, on-site maintenance facility allows us to service vehicles faster, boost efficiency, and ensure fleet readiness.

👏👏👏

Thank you to Bishop Edward J. Burns and the Catholic Diocese of Dallas for hosting the annual Blessing of the Fleet and interfaith Blue Mass service this morning at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Dallas Police, Dallas Fire-Rescue, and agencies from across the metroplex were represented, and the names of every first responder who died this year were read to honor their memory.

Congratulations to Station 25 for their Life Saving Award! A 62 year-old woman went into cardiac arrest at a gas station in their district on May 6, 2026. Bystanders started CPR and this crew took over when they arrived. Paramedics continued CPR, performed one shock, and were able achieve return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).

She was transported to the hospital and was able to walk out neurologically intact! It’s not often our paramedics get an update on the outcome of a patient. They were happy to hear their work helped this woman survive.

Excellent work 25’s!

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews again proved that professionalism, skill, and sheer determination saves lives. Today, we are proud to honor them with the Dallas Fire-Rescue Life Saving Award.

The Incident: On February 21st, at approximately 3 PM, Rescue 71 arrived on the scene of a convenience store where a 60-year-old female had collapsed and was found unresponsive with agonal breathing. The call was complex and critical from the very start.
Recognizing the patient was in a lethal heart rhythm (V-Fib), the crews immediately went to work. In a remarkable and tireless effort, they delivered a total of 6 defibrillator shocks.
Most cardiac arrest patients do not survive after the first few shocks, but this team—with excellent airway management and perfect team coordination—refused to give up. Their persistence paid off when they achieved return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).
The patient was transported code 3 to Methodist, and we are overjoyed to report that just three days later, she was discharged from the hospital with zero deficits. That is an incredible outcome!
The Honored Teams:
RE71: Freda Berhe & Robert Lopez
EN26: Scott Gray, Kevin Parker, Dustin Mobley, & Ethan Martinez
781: Danny Miller
As our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. S. Marshal Isaacs, noted, outcomes like this are only possible when "everything is done well."
Please join us in thanking these incredible DFR members for their "Excellence In Care" and for reminding us all why this work matters. You guys did awesome! 👏👏👏

🚨🚒Today, Dallas Fire-Rescue expanded its life-saving pre-hospital blood transfusion program by adding two new temperature-controlled, military-grade coolers to our fleet, each one carrying 2 pints of blood 24/7. Thanks to a generous donation from Safer Dallas Better Dallas, DFR now operates a total of seven specialized coolers citywide.

For patients experiencing severe hemorrhaging, receiving a blood transfusion before reaching the hospital can mean the difference between life and death.

With this expansion, DFR EMS supervisors can now deliver life-saving blood to most areas of the city within 10 minutes. The success and impact of this program is measured by the lives that have been saved because of it. The program launched in February of 2025 and to date, DFR has administered blood 71 times, with most patients having positive outcomes.

We are incredibly grateful to Safer Dallas Better Dallas for their continued partnership and dedication to keeping our community safe. 🩸🚒
