Hidden Valley Crowns New Winners in King of the Mountain Challenge
October 10, 2026
Clearfield, PA - Hidden Valley Speedway presented the King of the Mountain Challenge on Saturday night with the following winners: Brad Benton of Duncansville in the Semi Lates, Craig Casher of Mineral Springs in the Small Block Modifieds, Fuzzy Fields of Brockway in the Penn Ohio Pro Stocks, Austin Fenton of Clearfield in the Pure Stocks, Greg Kiehl of Fairmont City in the Little’s Drive In Four Cylinders, Brock Boyle of Three Springs in the Legend Cars, Quinten Beeman of Somerset in the Crown Vics and Eli Kennedy of Linden in the 600 Micro’s.
Brad Benton and Mike Paronish led the Semi Late field to the start and Benton took the lead at the start after a side-by-side first lap with Paronish. Benton then opened up a slight lead with Matt Martin in third, Jakob Piper in fourth and Dave Buchanan in fifth. The caution waved after one lap as Rich Runyan, Jr., spun and collected Scott Stein and Jeremy Lippert. Stein and Lippert pitted and Runyan tagged the rear of the field. On the restart Benton continued to set the pace, as Buchanan got into a battle with Martin and took third, chasing after Paronish who was still in second. The race continued until lap 11 when several cautions came into play over the next few laps, but Benton continued to hold strong through all the cautions, but on lap 14, Buchanan became the next caution, and he dropped to the rear. Benton went on the lead the rest of the race, with holding off Paronish, Martin worked his way back to third, with Piper and Joe Loffredo completing the top five. Heat wins went to Benton and Justin Owens.
With rain falling at the start of the Small Block Modified feature, Jimmy Holden was able to pull into the lead at the drop of Sam McClellan’s green flag out running Craig Casher. The event went non-stop, with Holden leading the lead for the first four laps, then Casher dove to the low side of Holden in turns three and four and he was leading once he got to the start/finish line. From that point on, Casher was able to continue his dominance of the division this season, as he went on to his fifth win of the season. Holden was second over Todd English, Kyle Holden and Karston King was fifth. Heat wins went to Casher and Jimmy Holden.
The Penn-Ohio Pro Stocks took the track first, with a number of crashes slowing the event. Fuzzy Fields led the first actual lap after several cautions opened the race, with Brandon Connor in second and Rocky Kugel in third. The top three would stay like that the entire race, with Mitch Stiles working his way from the rear after an early caution to finish fourth while Cregen Brady finished fifth. Heat wins went to Jim Bloom and Fields.
Bruno Mowery and Caleb Bloom brought the Pure Stocks to the start, with Bloom taking the lead and Austin Fenton running second. Like the Pro Stocks, several cautions slowed the race, as Bloom held tough against Fenton, holding him off nearly the entire event, but working the final laps, Bloom got high in turn two with two to go, and Fenton was able to dive under him, then Bloom chased Fenton into the third turn, as Fenton continued to lead. While working the final laps, Bloom gave it his all one last time, diving into the third turn and losing the handle, after collecting Fenton, who also collected Eric Lucas and Ryan Jones. This set up a two lap shoot out, twice, as Fenton was able to hold on to get the win over Mowery, Seth Plummer, Parker Hemphill and Bloom. Heat wins went to Mowery and Bloom.
The Littles Drive In Four Cylinders saw Camden Frantz and Zack Lennox on the front row, as Lennonx took the lead and Frantz ran second, the front two were waging a great race, as Greg Kiehl ran third. On lap nine, while working lapped traffic, Lennox got into Frantz, and caused the first caution of the event. Another caution on that lap set up another restart this time with Kiehl on the point, and he was able to hold off the advances of Brett Hanley the final six laps. When McClellan waved the double checkered flags, it was Kiehl with his third win of the season over Hanley, Mike Phillipson, Isaac Exley and Kevin Dotten. Heat wins went to Frantz, Lennox and Hanley.
The Legend Cars made a return with Brock Doyle taking the lead from Eric Moats and leading the non-stop event from green to checkered. At the finish it was Doyle taking the win with Matthew Parks second, Moats third, Darren Lucas was fourth and Ben Burnisky was fifth. Heat wins went to Doyle and Moats.
The Crown Vics also made a return visit with seven teams on hand, as Quinten Beeman out ran Kyle Wiser at the start and never looking back, as he went on to get the win easily over Wiser, TJ New, Keith Kopenhaver and Rick Maxim. Wiser won the heat.
A hard crash at the start of the 600 Micro heat saw Hyde Fire Co. and Moshannon Valley EMS called into service and dropped the field to three, eliminating Rich Kerstetter and Jimmy Young from competition the rest of the night, thankfully, they were not hurt. The feature saw Eli Kennedy take the lead from Jessica Miller at the start and he led the non-stop event the entire distance to take his first win at the speedway this season. Miller was second over Sawyer Yorkey. Miller won the heat.
