Back in the lab yesterday on the Talon 😉. If you have been following me long enough you know the history of this car. Had a Great time seeing Ben Lin Mark Brylo and the crew yesterday. Shout out to DFA performance for the hospitality. I REALLY can't wait for summer to be over because tuning in the Saunas isn't ideal. I am black/native but even I can't take this HEAT!!! Best believe I will deliver 🔥🔥🔥 though. As always

3000gt stuff aside for a second....

Evo X things. I'm about to send this m**o. Lol.

A Garrett G35-1050 with a 1.01 turbine housing. I've done a good bit of fast EVO Xs. From 600whp on stock blocks to over 800 on 6870s. This one we gotta see 900whp. The weak point will be the clutch. All controlled by Ecumaster, let me get some guesses. Mustang Dyno btw. I'm going to start by guessing 880.

We are on the home stretch with this one.

😡🤬 Removing a lot of outdated equipment and moving the battery to the rear for more room and a cleaner look. Picture on the left is just a mock up as I route preexisting wires/harnesses to clean up the wiring mess and make room for the fuel pressure regulator. Picture on the right is the AGT40mm turbo. Chrome has been removed for Haltech and that ugly intake bubble has been removed in favor of Mr. Barnharts intakes. Can't wait to finish her up and take that trip to the dyno ❗❗

Your not going to believe it. This car made 398whp and 388wtq on the stock Evo 9 turbo. Pump gas 93oct. It is a built motor, but it definitely wasn't safe. Previous tuner had the knock thresholds so high it wouldn't register.

Now I know better, I used the current map and just decided to clean it up. So we changed all the knock settings back to factory. It made 375/303 coming in and leaving at 376/368.

Knock sensor isn't happy nor was the iat sensor working correctly. Didn't want to use the fuel temp sensor as this car is driven through the mountains a good bit and in lower elevation.

Upon inspection the knock sensor was over tq (tq spec is 17ft/lbs) to the block and also in a pretty beat up condition. New parts are on the way asking with some tips I left for the customer on how to handle it. Stock turbo 8/9 cars move a lot of hot air when turned up, you have to be conservative on timing to keep the fragile knock sensor from having a field day........

Or I could turn it off ,😃

I think........600hp will be fun 🫡. Mr Anthony Bracero Evo in for a complete engine build paired with a FP Red. He said if he wants to go fast he'll just go racing in his Bike. Professionally, he races bikes. So we'll keep this one tame yet fun, I think 600 is perfect for that.

3000gt pistons for the 6g72. Wiseco 10:0 and JE 9:0. I couldn't do the 7:8 or 8:3 option as that's a bit too low for my liking. These engines already produce a massive amount of torque in its std 3.0 configuration. Let's help it more without stroking it 👀------ pause.
