A Ferrari 250 GTE is more than a car; it is a symphony in twelve cylinders. When this particular example arrived in our shop, the music was out of tune. When we first acquired the 1961 250 GTE, it was stunning but needed corrections for Ferrari Nationals. The main issue was the carburetors, which had incorrect finish and lacked the signature Maranello crispness in idle. We overhauled them, by starting with cleaning using dry ice, followed by passage cleaning, replacing internals, and the application of a durable black coating designed to withstand fuel exposure. After reassembly, we fine-tuned the synchronization, restoring the V12’s clarity. The engine bay now looked and sounded as it did when it left the factory.
