Thank you to the City and Cambridge and Dorchester County for supporting the tradition of powerboat racing on the Choptank River. Without their support neither the Cambridge Classic Powerboat Regatta or Thunder on the Chopank would be possible.

Come down to Gerry Boyle Park this weekend (August 29 & 30) to experience the excitement of the Thunder on the Choptank. Racing will start each day at 11:30.

Thunder on the Choptank is coming straight at you this weekend: Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30. The racing action is happening on Hambrooks Bay at Gerry Boyle Park in Cambridge, MD. Racing starts at 11:30 am each day.

It will be an action-packed powerboat racing weekend on the Choptank River hosted by the Kent Narrows Racing Association with the support of CPBRA and the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to great powerboat racing, food will be available from Hooked on Seafood, sweet treats from Amy's Cool Ice Cream Express, and drinks from the CPBRA beer wagon (domestic and craft beer, crushes, soda, and water).

The best viewing area is right from the banks of Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh offering many spots for viewing the races. Bleacher seating will be available or bring your own chairs. No coolers allowed.

Free admission but there is a $5 donation to help us leave the park in the same condition we found it. Enter the park using the Talbot Avenue entrance.

We are just one week from Thunder on the Choptank! Join us at Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh on Saturday and Sunday, August 29 & 30 for exciting powerboat racing.

We are just one month from Thunder on the Choptank! The powerboat races are August 29th and 30th at Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh in Cambridge, MD.

This is a great venue to watch exciting power boat racing. You are very short distance from the boats as they race around the course at very high speeds.

In addition to really fast boats, there will be food trucks, beer, crushes, t-shirts, and more.

There is no admission fee but there is a $5 parking donation to help keep the park in the same shape as we found it. Come out for a great weekend of family fun.

On behalf of the Cambridge Power Boat Racing Association and the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce we want to thank everyone that made the 2026 Cambridge Classic Powerboat Regatta a success last weekend despite the weather on Saturday.
