This technology allows cars to "talk" to each other and to traffic signals, reducing the risk of accidents and helping to optimize traffic flow. Roy has filed numerous patents that involve vehicle behavior monitoring, warning systems about questionable/dangerous drivers, and collision avoidance.

🚘💡Fun Fact Friday: Ralph Teetor, the brilliant mind behind Cruise Control, was blind!

Born in 1890 in Hagerstown, Indiana, he lost his sight in an accident at age five. Undeterred, Teetor pursued mechanical engineering and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1912.

In 1945, he invented the "Speedostat," a mechanism to maintain steady speeds and save fuel, which we now know as Cruise Control. His journey is a testament to overcoming obstacles and driving automotive technology forward! 🌟

🏎️It’s Fun Fact Friday! ✨Remember the iconic 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? It’s a cleverly crafted replica!

Only 56 original Spyders were ever made, making them incredibly rare and expensive. Given the film’s limited budget, a genuine $300,000 Ferrari was out of reach. So, the filmmakers built three replica cars, with one used for stunts and eventually destroyed in the famous scene where it crashes out of a window.

Inventor James Lambert was driving his Buckeye gasoline buggy when he hit a tree root and collided with a hitching post. Luckily, no one was seriously injured, but the car was damaged and later burned up in a barn fire.

This network of roads spans an incredible 30,000 miles with a 66-mile gap between Panama and Colombia known as the Darién Gap. The challenging landscape of mountains, swamps, and dense jungle, along with the need to protect the region's biodiversity and Indigenous communities, means there are no plans to build a road through this unique and vital area. 🌿🦜

☕️🚗 Did you know that in March 2010, a 1988 Volkswagen Scirocco, nicknamed the 'Car-puccino' by Guinness, set a record by traveling 209 miles solely on coffee grounds?

This quirky experiment proved that coffee's natural carbon content can power a car, although it's not the most cost-effective way to hit the road. Each mile takes 56 espressos!

Since its inception, it was the only year without this iconic car. The only surviving prototype now sits in the National Corvette Museum.

Have you ever heard of Irvin Gordon? Irvin holds the Guinness World Record for Highest Vehicle Mileage with 3,039,122 miles on his 1966 Volvo 1800S (inducted on May 1, 2014). His car hit this incredible milestone with the original engine intact, and only two engine rebuilds since it came out of the factory! 💪 🚗

Some simple advice from Irv to keep your vehicle running forever: follow the service maintenance schedule, fix broken parts quickly, always use your turn signal, and don’t let anyone else drive your car.
