Local law enforcement in Downers Grove needed some help this morning inflating a giant strawberry frosted donut (really!) to support today's event 😃and it was Cassidy Tire & Service to the rescue! Our manager Sam Haddad was happy to provide assistance and saved the day! The event today is part of the Dunkin’ and Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois partnership. This partnership has been a huge success over the years; in fact, more than $8.7 million has been raised in Illinois! Cassidy Tire & Service was glad to support the effort!

Back in 1924, while Wm. J Cassidy was making a name for himself in the tire business, yet another Cassidy family member (James Aloysius) was making a name for himself at St. Ignatius College Prep as a baseball player. This year, on the 100th anniversary of his graduation, James Aloysius Cassidy was awarded the St. Ignatius College Prep Centennial Medal, in recognition of his contributions to the baseball team (he helped defeat Loyola Academy in a baseball game that "meant more than any other on the schedule") and in appreciation of the Cassidy family's contribution to the school and community. Our very own Tom Ahern, Sr. was on hand to receive the St. Ignatius College Prep Centennial Medal with pride on behalf of the Cassidy family. Another piece of Cassidy history!

A new group of brakes experts graduated today from the Cassidy Tire/NAPA training program!🎉 They spent a solid 24 hours focused exclusively on brakes technology, diagnostics and repair. Even the most experienced technician learned something they didn't know about brakes! 👍 The group is excited about the next course in their curriculum, and ready to put their new brakes knowledge to work! Happy Earth Day! 🎉Did you know? Over 280 million tires are discarded each year in the US, approximately one tire for every person in the United States! 😳Around 30 million of these tires are retreaded or reused, leaving roughly 250 million scrap tires to be managed annually. They end up as molded auto parts, rubberized asphalt to resurface roads, rubber mulch and more! Every little bit helps when it comes to protecting our environment!

It was Cassidy Tire to the rescue today when St. Francis High School in Wheaton found their mower had a flat tire while grooming the field in advance of their baseball game tonight 😩 All it took was a call to Cassidy Tire to take care of the situation! Cassidy tire tech Ryan saved the day and got the mower back in action so the Spartans can play tonight on a well-groomed field. ⚾THANKS, RYAN! 👍 GO, SPARTANS!🎉
