Had the pleasure of going down to in CHCH to finalise the trans tuning on this epic built GTR with ZF8HP. Loaded in some of my new shift strategies and off we went. Making them shift fast is one thing, but making them drive in auto silky smooth is a whole different level. It takes hours to get it amazing. Throttle blips, subtle shift cuts in the different modes. This has 3 auto modes and 3 manual modes from smooth to sport to race shifting. Iv worked hard on strategies between TCU and ECU to keep making this setup better.

Final result, a car that drives like a late model bmw,
Yet in sports mode drives like a high end performance car, then manual modes where its like driving a race car.

The level on this build is unreal everywhere you look is attention to detail. has knocked this one out of the park.

Some live footage of the ZF8HP we tuned going around a race track.
We tuned this engine and trans combo with maxx ecu.
Same tyres from last year and setting some pb times goes to show these boxes have their place.
When the combo is done correctly they are amazing.

XB coupe was back for a few more jobs.

Last effort was the big one getting cert and fixing so many things along the way, the only thing that never came out was the motor.
Due to having some oil leaks we removed the engine fixed the engine leaks a reinstalled.
Not the easiest task with a paint job like this.
We also added a bit more stainless shine to the engine bay while we were there.
From a car that originally arrived for a carby tune turned into close to a few hundred hours work repairing work to a cert standard and fixing many gremlins along the way.
Such a cool looking and sounding car.

Grants awesome truck we had the privilege of doing a full efi conversion on.

We got to complete a full wire up on the 490CI big block, using all tefzel wire,
Quick release firewall plug,
IGN1-A coils
Dual lambda
Dual knock
All the necessary sensors plus xtras for safety.
One of our relay boxes.
Link ecu.
Followed by a tune.
Sounds angry, drives smooth job complete.

.garage dropped his 13b turbo ute off for a tune.

Sorted the boost issues causing it to cut.
Carried out a tune and turned the boost up.
Made a healthy 463hp on 16psi of boost. Enough to be an absolute handful in a ute.

Davos car in for Trans tune, Turbolamik/maxx ecu combo.

Dialled in to be used for drifting.
Insane build set to such high quality.
Excited to see this smoking some tyres at the track.

Its not quite thats for sure.

Another 8hp instal done,
Maxx ECU running engine and trans.
Haltech ic7 dash.

Shifts are fast and smooth.
Modes change depending on driver conditions.
So nothing to think about the more you put your foot down the faster the shifts get. Want to cruise around in smooth auto then shift into manual for more aggressive shifting.
All shiftcuts are based on drive mode.
Night and day compared to a BTR trans.

Finally got to dial in a maxx ecu with 8HP trans control.

1st off we tuned the motor also running the max,
Flex fuel, multiple boost settings, boost by gear, safeties set. 450 on pump and 520 on e50.

From here it was onto the trans, dialled the trans in to shift what feels and sounds like it’s pretty quick. Im impressed how well the maxx controls the trans. We used the maxx shift cut strategy and added some more tables in other areas iv had success with in other platforms.
From here it’s some real life testing to see how it goes.
So far so good 💪

Barra Altezza 8hp70 with a Link and turbo lamik combo.

Installed and tuned Link Extreme ecu.
Multiple boost settings
All protection systems in place

Set up full torque management in the Link ECU.
All the torque calculations were done in the Link ECU and sent to the Turbo Lamik. All shift cuts are controlled by the Lamik and sent to the ECU.

The shift cuts are accurate and fast, yet can be driven butter smooth as an auto.

Car is due to return for flex fuel and try for 1000hp, new exhaust manifold ( boost creep was an issue) DBW (full downshift blips) and some more updates I have been working on pairing the link and Lamik ecu for more features.

So far this would be my favourite combo Link and Lamik paired together.

Video 2 was just how fast you can shift. (As fast as you pull the lever)
