My name is Barkley, and I’ve just started as the new receptionist at GiG Automotive. Please bear with me while I learn the ropes…

🐾 Greet every customer like we’ve been best friends forever.
🐾 Occasionally approve payments in exchange for belly rubs and biscuits.

If you hear barking in the background, don’t worry… I’m just providing excellent customer service. If I accidentally hang up on you, I probably spotted a cat. 🐱💨

🌟 Happy Matariki from the GiG Automotive Team! 🌟

Just a quick heads-up that GiG Automotive will be CLOSED for Matariki so our team can enjoy a well-earned day with our whānau, friends, and loved ones.

We’ll be back on Saturday, ready to get your cars back into tip-top shape (and to hear all about who burnt the sausages at the BBQ! 😂).

Did you know that Matariki marks the Māori New Year? It’s named after the cluster of stars that appear in the winter sky and is a time to:
✨ Remember those who have passed.
✨ Celebrate the present with family and friends.
✨ Look forward to the future by setting goals and making plans.
✨ Give thanks for what we have and enjoy a good feed together (because every celebration is improved with food! 🍽️).

Our phone line is currently playing up and we’re working as fast as we can to get it sorted. Unfortunately, unlike a car, we can’t just plug in a scan tool and tell it to stop being difficult! 🤦‍♂️

🚗⛽ PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM GiG Automotive ⛽🚗

Today we had a customer come in and tell us their car had broken down just up the road.

“The engine is turning over, but it just won’t start!”

After asking what vehicle it was and how long the fuel light had been on, our first reaction was a little chuckle… 😆

Because sometimes the most complicated automotive fault is actually…

✨ An empty fuel tank. ✨

It turns out that for a car to do the technical automotive process known as “vroom vroom,” it generally requires petrol. 😂

While most modern vehicles can travel a little way once the fuel light comes on, it’s never a good idea to treat the fuel gauge like a challenge. Running your tank too low can cause fuel system issues and can leave you stranded at the most inconvenient time possible.

💡 Top tip from the team at GiG Automotive:
Don’t wait for the fuel light to come on. When you get down to about a quarter of a tank, start thinking about filling up.

Your car will thank you.
Your wallet will thank you.
And you’ll avoid becoming today’s “it just stopped” story. 😜

During this transition period, we kindly ask for your patience while our team learns and integrates the new systems into our day-to-day operations.

📞 When calling to make a booking, please have the following ready:
• Your vehicle registration number
• Your email address

This allows us to pre-enter your details into the new system and helps speed up the booking process.

🌱 Once everything is fully up and running, your usual WOF check sheets will be emailed directly to you, helping reduce paper usage and making things more environmentally friendly. Printed copies will still be available on request if needed.
