A Yacht, a Bowser, and a Bottle of Memories!
A Deal to Remember
Back in 2014, I had the pleasure of selling an Azimut 62E to a client in Wellington—a standout moment in my career as a yacht broker. The transaction was more than just business; it was a genuinely enjoyable experience that took me to the picturesque Varazze Marina, nestled along the Ligurian coast near Genoa.
An Unusual Gift
Before heading to Varazze, I wanted to bring a thoughtful gift for the yacht, Adelia. On the way, I stopped at a quaint local shop to pick up a special bottle of wine. To my surprise, instead of handing me a traditional glass bottle, the shopkeeper filled a plastic bottle straight from a bowser. It was an unexpected twist that added a touch of rustic charm to the journey—and a story I’d never forget.
Sailing and Celebrating
After a quick detour to Sardinia to finalise another deal, I returned to Varazze for the sea trial of Adelia. The trial went off without a hitch—smooth sailing in every sense. To celebrate, I shared the bowser wine with my clients aboard. Despite its humble packaging, the wine was exceptional, adding a delightful note to an already successful day.
A Vessel That Keeps on Giving
The Azimut 62E turned out to be a stellar choice. Even now, years later, the client continues to enjoy the yacht annually in Valencia—a testament to both the vessel’s enduring quality and the satisfaction it brought.
