2026 HSP TUNING SPOT PRIZE

Congratulations to Blake Cowie and his Mk8 Volkswagen Golf R, winner of the HSP Tuning spot prize at Wookies in the Wild 2026!

Blake takes home a custom ECU and TCU tune courtesy of HSP Tuning — a bloody good prize and something that should wake the Mk8 R up nicely!

HSP have been long-time supporters of Wookies, with Hennie and Loree not only backing the event but coming along and being part of the weekend year after year.

A massive thank you to HSP Tuning for putting up such an awesome prize and continuing to support Wookies in the Wild.

Congratulations Blake!

Sometimes it’s not a showy or flashy fast looking car we build.

We enjoy unlocking the hidden gems or even building things against the classified “normal”, so we got to do our thing here

HSP Stage 1 ECU tune
HSP Stage 2 DSG tune (custom set launch rpm)
Full air intake
Coil overs supplied and installed by us.

Allowing this night Tiguan to handle while unlocking the power. As we like to insure every single vehicle is always road legal. We sorted the Low volume vehicle certification for the client too.

Stats!!

Stock : 125kw / 280nm
Tuned : 198kw / 440nm

Managed a staggering 13.9 1/4 mile at meremere. Knowing what we know now, we could certainly improve these times considerably.

Until the next Tiguan we unlock, these are amazing car.

We tuned this Golf R wagon over a year ago. Removing the software that was on there.

Originally it started with a conversation, we quickly discovered the vehicle was tuned, unfortunately very poorly. Some how having only raised the boost by 1.5psi of boost and same ignition timing? The car was not all pulling loads of timing but in a single drive the engine bay became a heater. So quickly sorted this and produced a nice and efficient stage 1 ECU / TCU solution and calibration for the vehicle.

Moving on a year later, we provide an engine service, Haldex service, Haldex spring upgrade and Road Rage Performance Haldex tune with our custom settings. Finishing off the car to be planted, faster and far more enjoyable to drive.

We are the only official Road rage Haldex dealer in NZ😎😎😎

Send us a message and let us see how we can guide you in the correct way of investing into your car.

Seems like we are tuning more and more BMW’s these days. Which is great, helping as many clients as we can.

2015 BMW 435i Grand coupe

This was an amazing car to drive after tuning was completed. We asked the client what he liked, disliked of@the way the car was factory tuned. So set upon improving his dislikes and boy did we deliver.

Stock power : 305hp / 400nm
Tuned power : 385 / 570nm

We had to swap out the factory charge pipe. Since they are prone to failure.

Get in touch if you want to unlock your vehicle.

By this stage, we have plenty petrol and diesel BMW’s under our belt.

This 2016 BMW 335D X-Drive Motorsport. What an amazing vehicle and combo of features.

This being pretty quick in stock form all things considered. Especially while it was on its stock wheels.

On these 19” wheels which are relatively heavy. It did a respectable 0-100 in 5.8 seconds and 13.9 on the quarter mile.

Upgrades done by client
- full turbo back exhaust
- intercooler upgrade
- swirl flap delete
- intake walnut blasting

Power (custom HSP tuned ECU / TCU)
Stock : 313hp / 630Nm
Tuned : 398hp / 780Nm

After some time on the track? Client managed a whopping 12.2 on the 1/4 mile. Considering a slow 2.0 60ft. There is soo much more to come for this vehicle.

We are confident with some tweaking, we will get this wagon to achieve 11 second quarter mile times. Craziest part is client still often achieves 5.1L/100km considering the power increase. Without fuel efficiency dropping.

Send us a message, email or give us a call and see what we can achieve for your vehicle
